My sister gave me a skull scarf for my birthday. I told her it could do double duty, both as an accessory in my Halloween wardrobe, and as a lovely accent piece to wear on Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Arrggghhhhh, then.

I figured I better pop back over here and make a post so I don't end up on the mother hen list. I have joined another web site that is based around the issues I described in the PTSD thread a while back. These people are where I was about 35 years ago but thanks to the web an more information being available the are not having as hard of time as I did. Just last night a 13 year old kid made a call for help and hopefully will not face the hell I went through. There are so many over there and they are dealing with so many different things that is is overwhelming just trying to keep up with them. It is a good place for me to be as I am now able to help others. I am one of the more senior members over there so I can offer a very long term prospective on their future. In addition, a few things are new to me and I am coming up to speed on them fast. I do check my in box every day or two and I suspect I will be over here when things slow down over there. Right now their server disconnected from the internet in the middle of a post I was working on.
Take care every body.

I don't wish to be rude to you and I don't carry any ill will toward you but you are the primary reason why I can't give any more details. I know something about you that you no longer recall and you would be a very poor fit for where I am when I am not here. If this information were to reach you we both might get extended timeouts. You for what you would do and me for letting it happen. In my case it would be well deserved because I know better. I can also save you some google time as my Id over there isn't the same one I use over here. Again, I did that to reduce the risk of somebody tracking me over there. That board would block you out. It is open but getting past the gates to post harder. Also the mods for good reason don't put up with the least bit of devotion from the guidelines. I had one give me a few words of warning to day because we has strayed a bit off the topic. Now consider the person I was posing with created the thread in the first place.
They have a major goal of helping people with serious problems get better and they can't allow anyone to interfere with that goal. People on that site have a far to high probability of suicide and they don't want blood on their hands.
Tonight I was dealing with two emotional meltdowns and I hope I was able to give them what they needed to make the next step in their life. Others were helping as well so I can't take all the credit. It can be very nerve racking dealing with a problem but it can bring great joy when your work helps somebody feel better about themselves.

Dena...you are getting in way deeper than I need.
I have zero possibility of suicide. None. Emotional meltdowns, yeah, I have them all the time. That is not really suicidal tendencies. I think you are reading a bit too much into my words, but I guess that is your work, and I applaud you for it.

Just put me on the list of those you REALLY do not have to worry about.
I am ALWAYS gonna be OK somehow,; someeay. IT is what I do.
It is who I am. I cannot do what my brother did, ever.
Are we clear on that point now????
I do not wish to have any doubt in anyone's mind about that point.
I am NOT suicidal. And never shall be.
Clear enough?

Mark. My only worry with you is that my actions would cause you to have timeout. The other web site welcomes everyone of a particular mind set but I am sure it's a web site that you don't want to visit. While I do think you have issues, they are not the issues I had to deal with or the issues of the people on the other web site. I can't tell you much more than that without telling you to much.

I respect the responsibility you have to keep things confidential.
I have issues, to be sure.
But they are not quite as dire as some suppose them to be.

Most days, I love my life. It has been an exceptional one by many standards.
I deal with chronic manic depressive illness, and of course, being a functional alcoholic. A tough mix at times, but not impossible to deal with.

And then I get a day here and there that makes me just wanna throw everything out the freaking window. Kitties help very much on those bad days. They really do, I am not kidding about my kittyness.

Bless you for caring for those who are in more difficult straights than I am, Dena. You have to be a very special kind of person to be able to do that.

Thank you but to be honest with you, I am having more fun on that web site than I ever have had on a web site before. Most of the time it kind of like here and they even have a last one to post thread. The other side is to take care of the medical side of things. In fact that was how I found it because I was researching something medically related to me. Don't worry about me because I am perfectly healthy. The web site because of it's nature can attract people with serious depression. There are referrals but sometimes a person just need somebody to talk to or in the case of a child, a non judging adult to help them handle a problem I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
Angela, the good thing is if we can get them moving in the right direction they will find peace for the first time in a very long time.
The interesting thing is that most of the time there are between 50 and 80 of us logged on and 250 to 300 lurkers. I fear for the lurkers because I suspect they may need help but fear entering the gateway. On the other hand, we had about 5 or 6 join today and we were busy greeting them.

Hummingbird Status update, still doing very well. Getting a mix of nectar and protein per vet recommendation. Has trained his keeper to feed him when he chirps. Now he just needs time to molt and grow a new set of feathers. Oh and maybe stop jumping off the high branch in his habitat and doing a flaceplant when his wings won't hold him. Although him trying may be very good exercise to keep his wing muscles in tone.

I have a feeling it will be status quo for some time. I'll try and update if I hear about any changes.

Final status update:

The animal lover was finally able to find a rescue location that could care for him until he is able to be released. Upon delivery they were praised for how well the care had been, especially including protein in the diet.

Dena, sounds like you are doing a bunch of people a bunch of good over there. All we can ask is you just pop here in every so often, to decompress if you need to, and to let us enjoy your company.

I hope I am doing some people some good but the people who set up the website in the first place are the ones that are doing real good. The site has been in operation something like 7 or 8 years. I am just a new comer.

I have gone awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww/.
Some times, some people just do the right thing.
And care about others in the way we all should.
Life is just not so simple for some of us.
I am not quite as impaired as the young gentleman is.
But I have issues that make it difficult for me at times.
I get on with life, but some of you do not understand just how hard it is for me.

From that article I quote, "Prevention is better than cure and I think, for all of these issues, we can help people and wildlife minimize conflicts,” he said.

And I reply that if people insist on confusing wildlife "conflicts" with wildlife "encounters", then my darling raccoons and skunks and opossums and squirrels will continue to be looked upon dis-favorably.

But if people can learn to enjoy their encounters with urban wildlife, these same people just might find that urban wildlife consistently teaches, delights and entertains.

Spilled a tub of grapes all over your garden? Who you gonna call? Well, there's no need to call anyone, as the critters will be along shortly to tidy things up :)

Quite. Plant roses and get deer. Have deer and you have predators to eat them. Have pets, and you have coyotes to eat them. People have forgotten they moved into the animals habitat, not the other way around.
