I avoid Oahu like the plague, too much like L.A. The "Big" Island is where I hang when I go.

Hey Jan, here's my favorite 'IZ' song:

Hej DG.
I like 'IZ' and so does my GF.
Once I was in the Dominican Republic and there was a Group of Young persons from a Church in Pennsylvania at the same time.
They used to have morning assembly outside our balcony.
We talked to some of them because they asked about how to find a raft.
Anyway one of the guys was so to speak big and he said:
My mission is to fill the pool:):):)

And for the first time I saw geccos there on our wall:)

Took breakfast under the mulberry trees today. Saw a big black Tuxedo Tom come over the fence. He's been stalking my girl kitties for about a week. Looks a lot like Vic's Grace, but I never seem to have my camera within reach when he shows up......

If her's like Grace, he's a BIG kitty.
There are few Maine Coone cats in the wild.
Dunno why that is. Just have not observed too many running loose.
Probably because they are so highly sought after that they are quickly caught.

How sad to hear that they had to euthanize the raccoon.

And for those who still wish to have "indoor raccoons", please think again.

The thing what surprised me is the test for rabies. They can only make it after they're dead?

Of the 3 bare lamps I got, the seller shipped 2 130-150w lamps and 1 100-120w lamp, My TV only uses 150w lamps, which might be another reason why the lamp didn't work, I've got 2 working lamps, I'll get a 3rd some other time, since I don't feel like taking the lamp out of the housing, it's almost as bad as putting one in a housing, even sitting down, My back was hurting.

I got the 1" diameter bearings for the swamp cooler from the Home Depot today(87F in Barstow CA) and have a pump and a motor on order, the guy with the motor though said 'the Post Office won't ship to a Post Office Box', that is ridiculous, since that is where everyone here gets their mail from, it's that or He meant UPS, if either sees a PO Box they will still deliver it, I have both My PO Box and My street address in My address on ebay and on Amazon, usually it's some of the people who ship by UPS that give Me the I can't ship that to a PO Box crap, cause it's so LAME. If the seller still says He can't I'll tell Him to refund My money and I'll go and get the motor from the Home Depot, even if it costs more and it will, My Liheap check came in today.

I'm slowly getting tired of this heat.. It's 94F in here and I'm making mistakes..

I would guess that it is not the only way, but rather the cheapest way. And it sounds like they were planning to euthanize the raccoon whether or not it was rabid. Raccoons can be rabid, but they are infrequently so. Rabies, at least in our area here in Northern California, is more common in skunks and bats.

:( I'd have thought with the rabies test for humans being so advanced and taking such a short time it would've been not much to just take a little blood from the critter and test it for rabies and give it a yay or nay for release.
