I'm dreading the next 3 to 4 weeks, temps inside will reach almost 95F at most(I hope), while outside the temp for Friday is supposed to be 91F/33C, there is no working a/c or swamp cooler here at all. I just called My contact at the CAPSBC and He said He'd see if they could authorize cooling help this early. Turns out He has the go ahead, though He doesn't know if it will be a/c or a swamp cooler and He doesn't know how long it will take to get this started, He's filling out the paperwork at least. I think I'll make a bucket of ice and put that in front of the big floor fan(there is a chair that is at fan height, right in front of the fan, perfect)...

I admit a plastic bucket is a bit tough to cut through. I have seen videos using styrofoam ice chests instead.
But hey. Use what you got. Beats not having anything.

I called My contact back and said I have Osteoarthritis, a swamp cooler won't help and can make Me hurt, I asked for a real 12000 BTU window air conditioning unit that would fit in a 19" casement/sliding window opening, 12000 BTU's is good enough to cool 640sqft and since I have 500sqft and at least 1 PC, a TV and a few other devices, that's what I need. He said He'd try to get one.

The magpie enjoyed the morning bath using it's wings to dabble it self:)

Or even when the windows are open and the temp inside is 92°F. Currently the temp outside is 56°F, inside the temp is 71°F, predicted high temp outside 89°F, inside might get to 91°F or so and yes all the windows are open, all 3 of them.

The problem is Janne that in the North of England it is still seen as a traditional sport, and big money changes hands on bets. The RSPCA are fighting hard but at present it is a losing battle. There will need to be a society change of attitude before it gets stopped.
