Man Haron Monis - a 49 year old Iranian refugee who has been convicted of sexual assault - is known to have sent hate mail to the deceased Australian soldiers' relatives. He is also the man who held hostages at the Lindt cafe in Sydney.
In his eyes, violence is a way to prove peaceful: "The more you fight crime, the more peaceful you are," wrote Monis who called Islam a religion of peace, in a post which he published as recently as yesterday, Sunday.

After hearing all of the charges that Man Haron Monis was facing and all of the prior convictions he had clocked up I'm very surprised that he was even allowed to be out on bail at the time. :-O

condolences go out to the manager of Lindt chocolate Tori Johnson and the barrister Katrina Dawson mother of 3 who where the inocent vitms of this lone wolf attack .

Some have said it was a random attack but considering that Channel 7 1 of the 3 major commercial stations has it's H.Q and news studio's 20 meters opposite from Lindt cafe he knew what he was doing guaranteed world wide coverage . This area of Martin place is where Channel 7 holds concerts in the morning on there show sunrise , so it is well known if you wish to be on tv go to martin place and stand outside the studio's at channel 7

Now all the courts and cops have to explain is why he was allowed out on bail with his rap sheet .

Pity i guess i won't be able to buy a good coffee after this as i expect Lindt will close that cafe now this has happened

Looks like the terrorist only shot one person the Manager of Lindt cafe when the manager saw the terroist start to nod off he tried to take the shotgun away from him but it went off . The cops then panic'd and went in guns blazing and shot one women in the leg another in the foot and another in the shoulder . The woman that died , all though not yet clear was probably also shot by the cops . ! police officer got shot in the face with gunshot pellets but is o.k .

It may also not actually be a terrorist attack !!
He may have just tried to hide behind the ISIS problem.

The state supreme court is only aprox 75 meters from Lindt cafe .

So what mite have happen is this .

Twit takes a shoot gun in a bag with him to kill someone possibly it the court house but stopped off at Lindt for a coffee . As he walks in a woman see's that he has a gun in his bag as she is leaving , she panic's calls the police they arrive in less than a few minutes , he realize that he's in trouble and what ever his original plan was is now changed , pull's out the shotgun and take's hostages and then elevates things buy doing a realy stupid thing and put the black and white flag up .

Weather he was going to hold up the cafe we are not shore but the part about the women calling police because she saw the gun as she was leaving the shop did happen.

Guess we will find out more when the serviver's start doing there interviews in the next couple of days .

He could have also just chose the Lindt cafe because of where it is right opposite Channel 7 news studio's

Clyde if you get the chance to watch the cops at that moment you will see what i mean there panic'd and botched it .

no beheadings mate he was falling asleep and the manager tried to take the gun away from him .

A sniper (cop) was in the 7 studio's on the second floor and could see the whole thing . He yelled hostage down shots fired and then the cops went in . watch the vid if you can and then you can tell me honestly as a ex cop if they did not panic or not . One man and all them shots fired . I'm very sus because there not saying how the woman was killed . shotgun wound or bullet .

also our have done some stupid things like kill the Brazilian tourist foe stealing 2 packets of gum with a freaking tazer gun . 3 officer are not guilty and 1 was guilty for excessive force . That judgement was made today .

You Americans think your cops are bad well ours are just as bad , shoot first cover up after .
