I have been running SETI for a long long time. Recently I added two other projects. SETI seems to have stopped? I get messages telling me the space is incorrect and SETI cannot run but I reset all three projects to default and still SETI does not run. POGS and cosmology are the other two projects. I have a new quad core Intel 7i pc with lots of space on a 1TB main drive. 16GB RAM.

SETI@home: Notice from server
SETI@home v7 needs 32.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 32.00 MB.

I am also getting message telling me the same thing in POGS.

Help?

There are two places where one can set these 'memory and disk space' preferences. One is in the global preferences through the website of any of the projects, and the other is in the local preferences of BOINC Manager. These latter preferences override the ones from the website.

So either do:
- Open BOINC Manager->(View->Advanced view->)Tools->Computing preferences...->Disk and memory usage tab and set the same preferences here as on the website->OK will save these settings.
- Open BOINC Manager->(View->Advanced view->)Tools->Computing preferences...->click the Clear button top right corner. This will delete the override preferences (not the exclusive programs settings though) and reread the global preferences file from disk.

According to my figures everything should have been running, I have no restrictions on network use, 10GB of disk space was allowed (1TB SSD Hybrid) main drive; CPU use unlimited, Seti is sitting there on the same numbers.

Just wondering, were any participants getting workloads, I see the database was being revamped??

I have this from POGS project:

pogs: Notice from server
fitsedwrapper needs 476.84MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 476.84 MB.

I might uninstall everything and start again, I suspect a possible conflict

You have 10GB allowed, and of that 10GB you have 0.00MB free. Uninstalling and re-installing will not fix a preference setting. You will need to allocate more storage space so that more work can be downloaded.

Aside from what Ozzfan said, uninstalling BOINC doesn't remove the file(s) that the problem is in.

So instead, can you post the contents of the global_prefs.xml file, and if it exists the contents of the global_prefs_override.xml file? Both can be found in the BOINC data directory -- the directory that stays put when you uninstall BOINC -- and can be read with a normal text editor such as Notepad. No fancy XML editor needed.
