From that:

... She hailed it as a "a small but significant step towards improving media portrayal of women and girls", and added that she hoped it would be permanent...

At least that is one small step towards an improvement, but will that improve the quality of their news reporting?...

Long overdue there is also this improvement from 'old ideas':

Pope Francis: No Catholic need to breed like 'rabbits'

Good Roman Catholics do not need to breed like "rabbits", the Pope has said, but should practise "responsible" parenting instead...

Do not underestimate how religions and the media influence people by how people are portrayed...

All just a cultural thing? Or a question of "questionable" upbringing?

Or 'just' cynical crass couldn't-care-less exploitation?...

From past posts it would seem that Angela
is an expert on this sort of thing. Perhaps
you could get her take on this?

The cynic in me...sorry, the cynic that is me...suspects that the Sun has suffered a sales slump in recent weeks or months, so they manufactured this story in an effort to get people talking about the Sun again to boost their sales figures.

I can't believe they forgot to mention the Dead Or Alive game series when talking about breasts in video games.
Google it if you're not sure what i mean.

DOA is I think the worst offender when it comes to showing off boobs. I mean, they made an entire spinoff series that was nothing more than their female characters in micro bikini doing volleyball and other mini games.

I don't get it though. I don't think Capcom is doing all that well financially at the moment so why are they wasting money on a boobs physics engine in a horror survival game about surviving the zombie apocalypse?

Is that a serious question?

If Capcom's marketing department thinks that is what gamers are like its no wonder that they are doing so poorly. They would be pandering to a very tiny subset of people who play games.

The US House has passed a bill to tighten restrictions on abortion, just as anti-abortion activists were marching through Washington, DC.

Terrible posturing by the GOP. They're the first to complain about gov't waste and spending, yet they waste tax payer dollars coming up with laws they know will never pass the veto. I suppose that's what happens when you have idealists with an agenda.

Uh, no. Those are ex-Dixiecrats who got summarily tossed from the Democrats a few decades ago and had to go somewhere to spread their agenda of hate. They call real republicans RINO's now and drink KoolAid brand TEA.

Yeah, rippin' Out A 20+ week 'Fetu[oe]s is A Messy Bizness. And 'Disposing' of 'Remains'. A Yuk-A-Thon. Reminds of 'Mail Rooms' in All The Lovely 'Wars' Fought. Packin' and Shippin' 'Remains' Home. BLECH.

If One can 'Stomach' so-to-speak, and 'Live' with 'Doing' 'it', Go fO 'it'. I Already have 'Trouble' getting to sleep and 'Dreams', whoa, not good. But if A Woman Can Handle 'it', Do What You Gots To Do.

Whether Abortion 'is' Legal or Not, I Believe 'She' can Do As She Pleases, with The 'Life' Inside Her. Maybe getting to Sleep and Dreams will Never Haunt. Maybe. Not My Biz. Ever.

I thought they were voting to put a limit on when abortions could occur, the US is about the only country that allows abortions late into the pregnancy.

At 24 weeks there is a 50% chance the baby could survive a premature birth, and at 27 weeks the chances of survival are over 90%. So limiting abortions to before 20 weeks seems sensible and would mean the US has caught up with the rest of the world on this subject at last. Isn't it about time to get out of the 19th century;-)

There is no limit on abortion in Canada. It is between the woman and the Dr.

I really doubt there are any women in the world who would go lightly into getting a late abortion.

There are some very valid reasons in this article why a late abortion might be necessary. Columnist Is 'Ashamed' of Senator Uncle's Hideous Anti-Abortion Bill
