Message 1612053 - Posted: 11 Dec 2014, 4:20:45 UTC - in response to Message 1612035.

Dick Cheney has come out of his hole to slam the US Senate's report into the CIA's use of the interrogation techniques that it employed and was unapologetic about the Bush administration’s response to terrorists.

http://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/former-us-vice-president-dick-cheney-slams-us-senate-report-into-cia-interrogation-techniques/story-fnh81jut-1227152323786

He doesn't have much choice but attack, seeing as he was the man in charge of the program, not shrub.

One thing the timing of the release does is divert attention from the second open enrollment for Obama care. Nothing happens in Washington without massive political reasons.

This goes beyond Bush and Cheney. Obama has his hand in it aslo. last night I read on an AOL news feed. That might be how they found where Osama Bin Laden was hiding out. True or not I dont know. But the whistle blower who reported about water boarding is in prison. There is justice for you.

Well, if he didn't know do we have another Abu Ghraib? Junior people attempting to get ahead by going beyond what is permitted?

Make justice happen!
I ask when?

Sweden-jihadist "among the most dangerous" on Guantanamo
It is ten years since Hassan Guleed was arrested and ended up in one of the CIA's top secret prisons, where "enhanced interrogation techniques" like waterboarding was used.
in 2010, the White House concluded that he is one of 48 prisoners who can neither be released or prosecuted - "prisoner indefinitely."

Another question.

What did the Australian Leaders, Intelligence Community, et al, Know and Aid?

Just American Bashing is Silly and shows another Agenda.

Can 'They' stop?

Answer: Just keep a tally of just mentioning American Republican Politicians, and not American Democratic Politicians, International Leaders, et al.

Clyde, you must of missed my previous post. ;-)

This Criminal War, waged by these people, committing War Crime's with EVERY Action, should NEVER have been place in the Criminal Justice System.
Since they are 'Illegal Combatant', as ALL Non-Uniformed - Non-State Sponsored Combatant's are: He could/should have been executed.
Why should these War Crime Committing - Illegal Combatant's, be treated differently than Non-Jihadist Illegal Combatants?
Note: Not speaking about Torture.

I was talking about how long time to execute law procedures.
Not the gravity of crimes done.
"prisoner indefinitely." sounds very bad to me.

He's using sarcasm and toeing the GOP party line that it is more humane to torture someone to get information from them while they're still alive to protect innocent people than it is to authorized drone killings on known terrorists as Obama has. In other words, he's not really sorry.

I'm not certain either method could be described as humane.

?????Shrub used drones extensively and everyone knows it. Somehow I can't see this as a Obama issue. Perhaps never sending in boots and only using bigger warheads, that could be an Obama issue.

CIA chief challenges Senate torture report

CIA Director John Brennan threaded a rhetorical needle in an unprecedented televised news conference at CIA headquarters Thursday, acknowledging that agency officers did "abhorrent" things to detainees but defending the overall post-9/11 interrogation program for stopping attacks and saving lives.

If they are Legal Combatants: They are POW's until Cessation of Hostilities. No matter how long.

Correct? Why not?

If they are Illegal Combatants: Their Imprisonment, before Execution, should not take this long.

Correct? Why not?

According to the rules of Geneva, Thats how it is spelled out. They were for the most part writen by the Europeans. So why are we breaking the law and not carring out the convents of the Geneva convention?

Hang all war criminals!
If it was good enough for Tōjō,
then what are you waiting for.
This demands only one outcome!

What is the difference between
Goring and Cheney?
Cheney is still alive!

Until America settles this they
have no voice in the world.

Fine. But it doesn't work when "abhorrent" things to detainees are done.
On the contrary it will back fire.
