Up until late last night, after the latest outage, my system had around 200 tasks, 100 cpu & 100 gpu, in common with most folk. Now I have 100 cpu and only 18 gpu tasks. When Boinc requests new tasks (whilst there are still 18 gpu tasks left) it only requests cpu tasks, and get's the usual "The computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress" So how come I can't get a full 100 gpu tasks as I used to?

explanations in laymans terms please ;-)

Your lucky i have plenty of cpu tasks but not even one GPU yet . Me is thinking there is still a problem still with AP generation so it's not your end . They will let us know i guess when they have time .

Well, you maybe right, but it doesn't explain why I'm not getting MB gpu tasks either, which I was before the outage.

'tis weird..

Does your GPU have work from one of the other projects you are working on currently?

For those doing MB remember work is limited as that is all they have had for everyone so don't be surprised if they run out down the road if there is a problem with ap's .

Be patient were nearly back ta normal .

No, I had 2 backups during Seti's shutdown, but they no longer have wu's and are suspended. |||||||||Funnily, I've just collected more wu's from Seti, and now have 136 tasks, presumably 100 cpu & 36 gpu, go figure ;-)

There were some observations that the server would fill up some machines, that had high cache settings, with CPU work before downloading GPU work. However since you stated your client was not making a request for GPU work that wouldn't be the issue for you.
There are some work fetch debug flags for the cc_config.xml that can be enabled if you want to try & troubleshoot if you continue to have problems.

I might try those flags. It's not a problem, I keep on eye on it anyway, so it shouldn't run out of gpu work, it's more of a puzzle.
