AP Assimilators, as well as the Fix AP Assimilators, are all still down.

Interestingly, even though they are shown as disabled, tasks that I reported just two hours ago still validated. So... they are running, they just aren't showing that they are.

The validators (both v6 and v7) are showing as running - it's just the assimilators which are down.

I always imagine they have their reasons for doing what they do. Sometimes that reason could be someone forgot to turn something on.
It is probably something more reasonable. Like wanting to make sure everything is working before committing the results to the db.

has anybody recieved any AP's for there GPU i've been waiting all day and not even 1 ?

Yes, more than 30 AP's for my GPU, and more is coming in all the time.

I'm with you Glen, haven't seen a GPU AP in 3 days. All I get is the occasional see2. We must be among the shunned or unlucky.........

Well, I must say that the production rate of new AP's is rather pathetic. I can just about keep my GPU fed with new tasks.

Same as before the last database outage. It was just as pathetic then.

My caches look to be slowly building. Getting 2 or 3 per request.

No "Current result creation rate" for AP's
No "Results received in last hour" for AP's
No "Result turnaround time (last hour average)" for AP's

I think that those three are still showing APv6 status.

Oop.. yeah, you're right. I overlooked that one. I saw a block of orange statuses and lumped the validators in with that block of orange.

I guess they are going to manually assimilate a few tasks and see if they assimilated properly before letting it go on full-auto.

OK, AP splitters never came online again after todays unusually short outage. I guess something is still wrong with the AP database, and that we'll soon see the database disabled again.

Merry Outage, or something.

Edit: And now it's real panic. I will run out again of AP's for my GPU very soon.

Down to my last 6 see2 APs, my GPU has not been employed for 5 days........wonder if it can draw Unemployment Benefits......

I think this is a case of the second person not responding by the deadline so the server sends it to a third person and then the second person returns a valid result after the deadline. The problem is in the programming which accepts the second result after the deadline has passed. The sad part is the innocent third person will probably never get credit. From what I have seen, the third result stays pending until the boys in the lab do some house cleaning.

In this case the second person is the first listing.

It is well past 5 PM on the left coast and APs continue to not be, therefore we continue do without, that is truly a cause to panic.

Got my C2D E8500 to ask for CPU work, got 27 VLARs, got it to ask for CPU work again, got 71 VLARs (Total 98 VLARs), just finishing off my last two CPU non VLARs.

Edit: A quick runthrough of those VLARs found me 8 overflows, the next work request gave me 8 replacement VLARs.

Claggy

I have picked up roughly 52 VLARs. Is there any way without running the tasks knowing which tasks are going to exit early and become overflow's? Reason why I am asking instant that I can return the tasks in the fastest possible way?

Hold on to your profile and other images (e.g. avatar) that need to be uploaded to the server, as for the moment that doesn't work. It would seem a disk is write protected on muarae1.

Normally tasks that end in 0 or 255, 1, 2, 254 and 253 may also overflow early, If the % gets to 0.300% then they probably won't overflow early.

If you use the Shift key you can Block select a bunch of unstarted Wu's, then use the Ctrl key to deselect Wu's you do want to run,
then hit 'Suspend' to suspend them, then suspend one or more of the running tasks, now wait until the potential overflow task gets to 0.300%,
then suspend it to try another, wait until the next Wu gets to 0.300%, then repeat,
Once you're tested all the Wu's you want to try, then unsuspend all the Wu's, any Wu's that have been started will be run first, before returning to FIFO order,
If you have 'Leave tasks in memory while suspended?' set to Yes, then you don't loose time when you get to crunch them fully, you just use memory until you do.

I'm having a hard time finding any non-VLARs for my test Mac. Has there been any progress on creating a "Run VLAR on GPU" Preference? I have a certain Windows Host that doesn't have any problems running VLARs on the ATI cards. If there was a Run VLARs on the GPU Preference I could have my Windows machine run those instead of the non-VLARs. That might help cut through all the VLARs a little.

Just a thought...
