Don't worry about what an individual cruncher says or does - It's what the project says that matters. So, Australia takes the World Cup.

We'll see you at the Ashes in the summer :-)

Well the Aussies just walked over the Kiwis and topping their season off with being the WC champions, winning by 7 wickets with 101 balls remaining (cementing our #1 ODI ranking). :-D

I think that the Kiwis were just shell shocked walking out on a near full and proper cricket ground (even if it is the largest in the world), with about 94,000 spectators in the stands (not just some little NZ rugby union stadium). ;-)

Micheal Clarke (captain) in his last 1 day match scored 74 off 72.

And David Warner's 45 off 46 got the Aussies out of the blocks.

But Steve Smith (future Aussie ODI captain) hits the winnings runs on the 1st ball of the 34th over and scored 56 off 71 (5x 50 run innings in a row).

"Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!!!"

Cheers.

Micheal Clark is still playing in the test matches so watch out he'll be wanting to win that so he can retire from both forms of the game

Just herd Wiggo on the news ! Today we lost one of the all time greats Richie Benaud . alas we will no longer here any more 12th Men recordings and one of the most recognized voices of cricket is now silent .

R.I.P

The PM Tony Abbott has finally done a good thing and has offord Richie's family a state funeral and so it should be , as he was one of Australia's most successful Cricket Captains never losing a test series , the first to get 2000 runs and take 200 wickets

We will miss you Richie

I remember as a kid watching cricket on the tv and one day up pops this Aussie bloke commentating. Not having that I said to myself so switched over channels and watched it on the other side. No good though because the other channel only had broken periods of the game to had to switch back again. Get this!! the next year I tunes in to the cricket, 11 am the normal start time and no
mention of Richie Benuad, I felt quite deflated ?? finally up pops Richie and I thought "Great" going to have a good days viewing now. Strange I know, but
that's the effect Richie had, even as a young kid I knew it wasn't going to be
a proper days cricket unless Richie Benaud was in the commentators chair.

Strauss set for ECB role

Unfortunately "Big mouth" Boycott puts his oars in muddying the water.

"Geoffrey Boycott told BBC Sport "things won't change" if Strauss is appointed."

The journalist Ian Wooldridge summed Boycott up nicely...

"Boycott, in short, walks alone"
