Cheers.

Scotland put on a better show than I expected, but they still went down by 148runs.

Tomorrow SAF takes on the UAE across the ditch.

Cheers.

Not 1 of SAF's better batting performances, again, but I think that the UAE will still have a problem getting close to the 342 run target set for them.

Cheers.

Well the UAE could only manage 195 runs giving SAF the win.

Tomorrow the Kiwis will take on Bangladesh across the ditch while Afghanistan goes up against the Poms.

Cheers.

Bangladesh gave the Kiwis a run for their money, but the Kiwis won by 3 wickets with 7 balls to spare.

Afghanistan were 7/111 in their 37th over when rain interrupted play against the Poms. There's still an hour to go before the match can be put off, but no further rain is showing on the radar.

Cheers.

Well the Poms got a revised target of 101 runs from 25 overs, they reached that target in their 19th over winning by 9 wickets.

Today India will face Zimbabwe across the ditch and the Aussies will face Scotland down across the drain in Hobart.

Cheers.

Yesterday, even though India won by 6 wickets it was a close match against Zimbabwe.

While the Aussies had to put up with a few rain delays to drive the last nail home against Scotland to win by 7 wickets early in their 17th over.

Today the UAE faces the West Indies across the ditch while Ireland goes up against Pakistan down in Adelaide.

Cheers.

Sirius that's not good Ireland being left out of the next world cup .

If only Kerry Packer was still alive he would tell them stuff shirts who can and who can't play just like he did when he introduced the limited over game and stuck it to the ICC and got exclusive contracts for 10 years for his channel 9 free to air T.V station .

We miss you mister Packer R.I.P

The West Indies just ran over the top of the UAE by 6 wickets with nearly 20 overs to spare.

Now if Ireland had of just scored another 30 runs more, but they didn't, so Pakistan won by 7 wickets and almost 4 overs to spare.

So the 1st quarter final is Sri Lanka vs South Africa on Wednesday at the SCG.

The 2nd quarter final is Bangladesh vs India on Thursday at the MCG.

The 3rd quarter final is the Aussies vs Pakistan on Friday at the Adelaide Oval.

And the 4th quarter final is the Kiwis vs the West Indies across the ditch on Saturday at Wellington Regional Stadium.

Cheers.

For an associate member, they played well enough. Maybe with more experience on the International scene, they could get better, but that's down to the ICC.

This is for the Americans so FYI

Kerry Packer was a biliionaire whom owned the Channel 9 T.V network here is OZZ .

He got a whole load of Test Cricketers together in secret to start a new more exiting form of cricket called Limited overs Cricket .

Up until that time there was only Test Cricket which is a game that lasts for 5 days and can get very boring to watch

He got the players together , form'd some teams and started paying them big bucks to play this new form of cricket behind the backs of the governing bodies of Cricket and Ended up after a big legal fight , threats , fines and b/s from the Crickets boards owning the game of Cricket .

Kerry Packer was a Maverick and genius with how he changed the game giving the players more money than they had ever got from the Cricket Boards , and the modern game of cricket would probably still be a low paying game for the players and very boring to watch . He was also Rupert Murdoch's biggest Threat for control of the Media and Television rights Here in Australia .
His form of Cricket became so popular that he was able to Demand any conditions he wanted from the world Cricket boards and made truckloads of cash

He died in December 26, 2005

Well I don't know what Sri Lanka had planned, but only scoring 133 runs in less than 38 overs wasn't the best innings, so SAF quickly ran them down to win by 9 wickets in their 18th over.

Maybe tomorrow's match between Bangladesh and India will be a better 1.

Cheers.

Glenn, the impact that Kerry Packer and World Series Cricket had on the game is not in dispute, but to credit him with the invention of limited overs cricket is stretching things a tad. Read this.
