Another interesting report - Hope the ICC listen

Got a couple of good comments :-)

Ireland batsman Gary Wilson:

"For reference: A minnow... A small fish. nb not Ireland, Scotland, Afghanistan or UAE."

Jonathon Agnew:

"Mommsen is right. The World Cup, by its very name, should be for the whole world"

Excellent acknowledgement of AB De V

Thanks, Sirius, that's a great article. I especially enjoyed the comments at the end.

Well, Sri Lanka done the Poms by 9 wickets, while Pakistan is finding batting hard going against Zimbabwe.

Cheers.

Pakistan scored a very lackluster 7/235 from their 50 overs and now we'll see if Zimbabwe can do something about it.

Cheers.

Zimbabwe went down by 20 runs and still they fell short of actually completing their 50 overs, this time by only 2 balls.

Tomorrow Ireland plays SAF down in Canberra.

Cheers.

In other news today, Ireland had a good day :-)

Here's hoping it's a foretaste of what's to come from that little island :-)

South Africa

Ireland

Anything can happen on the day, but I think SA will take the match, just hope they have an "off" day :-)

Ireland didn't stand a chance against SAF, going down by 201 runs.

Tomorrow Pakistan will play the UAE across the ditch and the Aussies will go up against Afghanistan across the other side of the continent.

Cheers,

Hard luck Sirius, the plucky Irish were no match for South Africa today. But they still have a chance to qualify for the knock-out phase of the tournament.

Still, 2 from 3 is not too bad compared to the "mother" country's 1 from 4 :-)

@John, the way they're playing, I won't be surprised to see them in the final. When the World Cup started, I was expecting it to be Australia the team to beat, instead it's looking like South Africa.
