I'm just sitting back with a beer (or 2) while watching the start of the 1st test against India down in Adelaide. ;-)

Cheers.

Well it looks like the 1st part of the 2nd day against India down here will be interrupted on and off by rain (the start is 10mins late), but Clarke is back out there at the crease this morning (we'll see how his back stands up).

Cheers.

We've only had the equivalent of a session's play today with constant rain interruptions, but both Clarke (128) and Smith (162no) put on a terrific batting display to all areas of the field when play was allowed and which had the Indians looking very dejected until Clark was caught just before the umpires called bad light.

We've scored 163 for the day and the next 3 days will be extended to make up for lost time.

Cheers.

We've started 30mins earlier today and the Aussies declared at their overnight total.

Hopefully no more rain delays will interfere with the match.

Cheers.

Nice one Warner

Good to see him back

Now if our lot can do the same for the next 2 ODI's we might win :-)

Root does it again

Even though Warner didn't explode out of the blocks like he did in the 1st innings he still put on a good display, along with Smith and Marsh, and it was good to get regular updates during that match on how Abbott was doing in his Sheffield Shield match.

Sri Lanka are a team though need close watching when they're down, so good luck with them. ;-)

Cheers.

Word just through is that Clarke has declared the Aussies' 2nd innings over at 5/290 leaving India a target of 364 runs on the last, but 1hr extended, day to win.

[edit] 98 overs is the maximum limit set for the day's play (normally 90).

Cheers.

So far the Aussies have put the screws in for the 1st and extended session with India at 2/105.

That's the 1st test done against India.

At the start it was either going to be a win for us or a draw.

Then at the tea break there was a possibility that India might just pull off a record run chase in Adelaide.

We finally took it out though with India falling 48 runs short, but it was a good match by both sides. :-)

The 2nd test will start on Tuesday in Brisbane here.

Cheers.

I saw part of a match on TV the other week.
I was very impressed with the crowd. Unlike the
Foot Ball game in Scotland last week. No one
around the cricket pitch even flinched at the sound
of the anthem....

Sri Lanka maybe hopeless at the long form of the game, but they can certainly bite you in the shorter forms if you're not careful.

Cheers.

I didn't realise it, but India's collapse started at 4.08pm, Phillip Hughes' player number is 408. Eerie or what?

http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/first-test-at-adelaide-oval-a-fitting-tribute-to-player-number-408-phillip-hughes/story-fndpt0dy-1227155213804

Aussie captain, Michael Clarke, has also admitted that he may never play again.

http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/michael-clarke-admits-he-may-never-play-for-australia-again-after-suffering-another-hamstring-injury/story-fndpt0dy-1227154883327

But unless he's fully fit he shouldn't play anyway as it's not good having a player in the side who's not fully 100% fit and who keeps breaking down during matches.

Cheers.

35C in Brisbane today and likely closer to 40C in the middle, so a few bowlers and a batsman went down in the center, but Vijay did hold up his end (while he was standing anyway) to get to 144.

The heat will be back tomorrow.

Cheers.

Day 2 of the 2nd test here is about to start.

I hope that it'll be a cooler day for the players.

Cheers.
