I turned in the problem I had with my amd 280x for a replacement. I bought the wrong 280x. I bought the dual-x version instead of the triple-x version like I was told to do at this message board. I will try another iteration of the dual-x and if it doesn't stop generating errors I will ask to have it replaced with the triple-x. DON'T buy the dual-x. It's cheaper by a few dollars but it's not worth the trouble. I got myself confused by all the amd double talk. I thought dual and triple-x meant 2 or 3 monitors. Duh!
