Wow! There was another football match on TV, it was a match someplace in the UK.
The game started off well enough, but then part of the crowd started to sing an old
Gerry and the Pacemakers song. I tell you it was like magic, the players seemed to do ok
but most off the people in the crowd who were not singing fell over in agony.
I think the TV crew that was working the game some how also fell over as the
broadcast went off the air.

For here this is what I get.

On my daily driver laptop, on wifi-n(?) at about 20 feet behind a concrete wall corner and various other obsructions: ping 25, down 15.38, up 1.96.

On my i7, wifi-n at about 3 feet with no obstructions to speak of: ping 23, down 15.21, up 1.92.

On my other cruncher, which is also a Broadcastify host, hard wired: ping 15, down 15.20, up 1.94.

I know the laptop and other cruncher used different servers, didn't notice which one the i7 used.

Conclusion: speed is limited by U-Verse. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be getting -- even the bill doesn't say, just U-Verse Max. I'm pretty sure I didn't pop for the best available.

Actually; U-verse tends to have over provisions in many tiers of service. Your service, (most likely), is 12 Mb DL and 1.5 Mb UL based on the speeds that you have provided.

With no TV's running, and no shows recording on the DVR; we hit between 47 and 49 Mb DL, and 5.6+ Mb UL. Our package is 45 Mb DL and 5 Mb UL. With one TV going in HD, and another HD stream recording, we typically hit 44 to 46 Mb DL speeds on our U-verse package.

We were told by one of the Techs that HD streams can eat up an additional 2 Mb per stream which is taken from the Internet Package. Hence our only getting 44 Mb DL with a couple HD streams going...

U-verse internet ROCKS!!!!! :-)

I have DVR-HD w/internet @15/1 and no modem rental fee on TWC(Time Warner Cable, soon to be Comcast, maybe), I bought the Motorola Docsis2 modem off of Amazon sometime back. Two Thanksgiving Day Parades are scheduled for the DVR today, the DVR has a few USB ports and I think a keyboard might be supported from what I've noticed in one of the menus, beyond that the ports are probably locked. If and when I get a Docsis3 modem I could go to a faster tier, but that's extra money, I'm already spending about $71.07 a month now, most is for the DVR.
