Urgh, keep you distance folks, I'm contagious. I'm coming down with a cold/deadly man flu :(

I'm not worried, I went out and got a shot close to a week back, in any case get well soon zappy.

Doesn't it take 10 days for the shot to take full effect?

Off upstairs, whence I shall see what havoc Annie hath wrought at Einstein.

Scott, put it on Beta. There's work there.

I had a shot last year at this time, I didn't catch anything when I went somewhere, so I'm not worried, I have some latent immunity already built up, besides there aren't too many kids here now, just a few, unlike years ago.

Once I get a monitor, (being donated to me), a SATA DVD drive, and a keyboard and mouse; I will be connecting to Beta on the E5200. I think I will call the E5200 Prometheus.

If it will be parked near your other box, just get a KVM switch and use the same monitor/keyboard/mouse for both. If it won't, remote into it with Teamviewer. My crunchers sit in the basement and I only physically touch them when I have to go down to do laundry, ~once a week. But I remote into the i7 almost every day because it has other stuff on it that I don't want to be on my daily driver laptop.

My 2 rigs here share my main monitor through a cheap 2-port KVM switch which only requires a double hit of the Ctrl key to change from 1 to the other. ;-)

Cheers.

While a traditional KVM switch would work for my existing monitor; my existing keyboard and mouse are Logitech cordless on a shared "Unity" USB stick/fob. I don't think the Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse can be shared that way. (I could be wrong, though.)

I've never used software for switching; either, but it sounds interesting. At some point I'll try Teamviewer. In the meantime, the donor for the monitor has already shipped it. It should be here tomorrow, or Wednesday.

Snow win.

That's no win.

What happened today???

Not only did it snow, but the temperature dropped 20 degrees F while I was working. All the rain that was falling this morning turned into ice that I had to scrape off the car before I could go home. And I wore a baseball cap to keep the rain off my glasses instead of my stocking cap to keep the cold wind off my ears. Brrr!

I have a 4-port KVM switch that has 3 USB inputs and feeds USB to whichever computer is active. It gets its power from any of the computers through their USB. It has a button on it to switch computers. I don't know if it has keyboard switching; it was my father's and I brought it home after he died, so I don't have the instructions for it. I suppose I could search online.

Anyway, your USB thing might work plugged into such a device.
