We are likely to (temporarily) run out of workunits to process as soon as this weekend. Please read this recent news item from Eric Korpela for further explanation leading up to this. We are currently solving various database issues, developing a new splitter so we can start processing our Green Bank Telescope data, and hunting for tapes that haven't fully been processed to get out of the current drought.

Good to see you again Matt
Thanks for the update, and hopefully the database problems won't take too much human effort and we will see the GBT data before too long.

Could you please publish this news item to BOINC Notices so people that don't visit the boards very often will know what is happening when they run out of work.

"...developing a new splitter so we can start processing our Green Bank Telescope data..."

What the...? The receiver is done? Or is this just "interim" data from the test setup.

The last I had heard the team hadn't even settled on the GPU type, and that was only a week ago. If the receiver is well and truly built and we'll be getting Green Bank data finally (and long term) then this is wonderful news and I can finally splurge on new cards.

Your call - do you want to contribute your efforts to other BOINC projects, many of which are "medical" in nature, or do you want to save your power bill...

Thanks for the post Matt. Whatever happened to getting data from the Parkes radio telescope?

Also is the GBT a regular feed or will it suffer from the same funding/being off-line issues that Arecibo has?

Cheers
