Everyone's getting excited about the blue line... I'm wondering what the green one will look like when the AP database comes back online to refill all these thousands of empty caches.

I do Seti, not AP, I do an update and I still am getting nothing, zero, gooseeggs, nada, zilch...

Why do you feel AP is not Seti?

Lets see, My motherboard is too fragile(I have a dying motherboard w/failing power regulators, so I'm currently restricted to 266.58 on My GTX580 card), AP last I looked required drivers that are so old that they don't support My video cards and that the AP wu's that do work on the gpu are cpu hogs...

If you or someone else wants to run AP, I'm not stopping you.

OK, so your platform won't support APs that does not mean AP is not Seti.

Maybe Vic you should have stated Multibeam (or MB for short) instead of Seti and if you wern't running such a new version of BOINC then that driver wouldn't have a problem doing AP's either. ;-)

Cheers.

Seti just came to mind, MB is not so easy to remember for Me...

Wow!!!

Look at the blue cricket graph folks. Haven't been that high for a long time. 151.83 Mbits/sec as of now. Prepare for work, work, work.... Probably MB's though, since I doubt that the AP DB work is finished.

Hmmm I wonder if the data is from the full drives they had at Arecibo that Eric mentioned on the 2nd. Perhaps it is some other data they managed to dig up form the vaults.

Hopefully We'll get the drives soon, before We all run out and can't post here anymore...

I think people mistake the message "In order to create a new thread in Number crunching you must have a certain amount of credit." by meaning RAC. There are those with nearly 0 SETI@home RAC that post messages still.

I was thinking more along the lines of being able to post, I never thought of creating a thread.

I get the same message on my 2nd account with 0 credit when trying to post to a thread.

At a time several years ago when I was doing only SETI Beta, my RAC here declined to under 1.0 and I was no longer able to post. More recently there was a thread where Angela was concerned her RAC was getting too low which IIRC confirmed that RAC requirement was still in effect.

Each forum has a post_min_total_credit and a post_min_expavg_credit setting, if a user's stats are below either setting posting isn't allowed.

It will be interesting to see how low my RAC will go before we start getting new work again?

Let's not get silly regarding that.

Hope the one who got killed died without pain.

You need a minimum to post comments, but there is no minimum to try and take over someone's team. I had 2 people with zero credit try to take over my team. Seems it should be the opposite, should need a few million before someone can start trying to take over teams.

I took over our team & there is a process for it. The current team admin has to not respond in 30, or was it 60?, days before it will be processed.
A limit of > 0 would probably not be a horrible idea. Having a very high limit could be a problem. As there could some cases where the credit for the whole team may not even be 1,000,000.

I guess Eric will fix something if we should all fall out of RAC:)

Unofficially I did takeover a team, but then they're a bunch of lightweights, I don't know who actually is in charge of the team, but I'm #1 in wu crunching...

Your team founder last contacted the servers in 2009 & has apparently made 0 posts.
You or one of your other teammates could start the process to take over the team admin duties.

Well, you were Warned;
Notices
SETI@home: New Data from AO
The four disks from AO have arrived - about 5TB of data. I have queued them up for pre-processing (radar blanking) so new SETI@Home workunits should be going out soon.
