Q. If there is a Wisconsin quarterback, running back and linebacker all in a car, who is driving?

A. The cop.

Two Nebraska running backs walked into a bar. Melvin Gordon ducked under it, gave it a spin move and ran 75 yards for the touchdown.

How do you keep a Nebraska quarterback engaged in classroom material?

I was just terrible at that game! That must mean that it is mighty difficult to whack a badger!

Just curious, what the bet is this year.

Just curious, what the bet is this year.

Actually, we haven't made a bet so far this year. In the past I know that one year Eric and I had to pay up a box of homemade cookies and one year Scarecrow had to buy us hats. One year Scarecrow had to sing the Wisconsin fight song, but we ended up excusing that debt because he had a bad cold for much of the winter. (Those midwestern winters are brutal! Eric remembers them well.) For some weird reason I don't think that Wisconsin was scheduled to play Nebraska last year, because I don't remember doing our annual trash talking in 2013. Until you mentioned it, Ulibelle, I think that we just plain forgot about the annual accompanying wager. I don't even know who is favored to win on Saturday and by how much.

Cowboy, would you care to make the game a bit more "interesting"?

After a rough practice session a Nebraska football player goes to see the team doctor.

"Doc", he says, "My body hurts wherever I touch it."

"Really?" questions the doctor. "Show me."

The football player takes his finger, pushes his elbow and screams in agony.

He pushes his knee and screams.

He pushes his ankle and screams and so on it goes.

"Young man" says the doctor, "Your finger is broken."

Looks like the Golden Bears tried to make a game of it, but they let the spoiled children get too far ahead in the first quarter.

A Nebraska football player, concerned about being late for practice, asked someone on campus what time it was.

The fellow student looked down at his watch and said, "It's 3:15."

The football player, with a puzzled look on his face replied "You know, it's the weirdest thing...

I have been asking that question all day, and each time I get a different answer."

I still don't give the slightest bit of a diddly-darn about football at any level, but I thought some of the people who got their jollies in this thread would enjoy this:

LOL!!! Your cartoon is quite timely as The Big Game between Cal and Stanford is in progress right now. Super Fun Cool Uncle Eric is sitting on those cold wet rainy bleachers right now, along side our thirteen year old nephew Mark.

Today's game is critical as a win could make Cal "bowl eligible". Unfortunately, the last time I peeked at the score, Stanford was winning by quite a lot.

Sigh. Go Bears!

Yes, Pastis posted it on his Facebook page yesterday because of the game today.

Meanwhile, I see your Badgers just beat Iowa 26-24 a couple minutes ago.

Not that I care.

(I have the teensiest bit of interest in Iowa, only because the Iowa Interstate Railroad runs the Hawkeye Express to move people from a remote parking lot to the stadium. I don't actually care who wins the game, though.)

That did last long...

Samaje Perine

The Oklahoma true freshman rewarded those who braved the elements with history. He set a major college record by running for 427 yards, scoring five touchdowns to lead the No. 23 Sooners over Kansas 44-7 Saturday.

Eric is looking forward to the bowl invitations to see where Wisconsin may go.

There is the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl
the Quick Lane Bowl
the New Era Pinstripe Bowl
the National University Holiday Bowl
the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
the Foster Farms Bowl
the Capital One Orange Bowl
the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl
the Outback Bowl
the TaxSlayer Bowl
and of course the ty d bowl ;-)
but I don't think the cotton, rose, fiesta and sugar are in the picture.

Any predictions?
