Greetings!

Sorry to bother you - but having trouble with uploads.

I have notice many other posts with the same theme.

Could you, please, post some troubleshooting guidelines for network traffic??
(maybe put a sticky-flag on the thread?)

Here is a task that has finished and the results are stuck in retrying to send results:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=3814911740

Here is what I tried:
Check BOINC Event log.
11/3/2014 9:58:53 AM | SETI@home | Temporarily failed upload of 23no10aa.11021.24777.227633266695.12.248_1_0: transient HTTP error
11/3/2014 9:58:53 AM | SETI@home | Backing off 00:12:02 on upload of 23no10aa.11021.24777.227633266695.12.248_1_0

Its the word "transient" that is curious...
Check server status on seti web page. "Results received last hour is 68,143.
Check my internet speed - att/ookla shows OK (normally slow upload speed.)
Check access to seti web page - OK
Turn firewall off/on with reboot. (Still stuck)
Check upload to other projects. They upload. Seti uploads stuck.
Check cricket graph. Not sure how to interpret. Looks like low volume traffic?
Try on another Box. Problem Box is Vista. Linux box Downloads OK (quickly).
--- Linux box is also stuck on upload.
Post message in forum. (Still stuck, though sometime problems go away after posting/going-to-see-the-doctor.)

So far, it looks like the uploads don't work, but the downloads and web pages do.
BUT other uploads are happening according to server status. (If I understand it..)

My last guess is an IP4 vs IP6 problem on my end...
I have no idea how to check.

Thanks in advance,

Jay

Just look at the Cricket graph
Upload to SETI is the blue line which has been flat since 4 AM Berkley time.

EDIT: Also, check the Panic Mode thread in Number Crunching forum that will generally inform of problems with the project.

Another question.....
I noticed (on the Cricket gragh)that there was reduced traffic For most of Sunday.

I couldn't upload during this period either.
Same problem?

Thanks again,
Jay

There is an on-going problem with the servers. So join the queues and be patient :-(

This time it have to be something very near to servers or the servers themselves.

I tried to redirect my traffic from Bulgaria through VPN to Los Angeles 23.19.26.250 (so the servers think I'm in Los Angeles) but this didn't help

Few days ago I got e-mail from SETI to rejoin. I left probably 1-2 years ago with 850 000 credits. Why I left? Because I had no time for constant problems with upload / download back then and had no time to waste my compute time waiting for tasks to download. Now I returned because of e-mail invite and again same problems here. Downloaded about 60 tasks yesterday and now worked 90% of them. One computer is without work already (Intel i5-4440) and 2nd one is very close to that.

And of course that with 850 000 credits I can not post to "Numbers crunching", like I have done nothing in past.

I really like this project, but...

Welcome back. Unfortunately the timing of your return really sucks :)

This is probably the worst server problem we have had since they moved everything to the co-location server room. Bruno, one of our oldest server, that was updated with bits and pieces from the other retired ones, has decided to show it's age.

Moving to the shared facility at the bottom of the hill, has provided a lot fewer and shorter down times, and much better bandwidth. I suspect that the usual 2 to 3 hrs of regular Tuesday maintenance will probably take all day to deal with Bruno.

As soon as you return and validate some work, your RAC will get back to >0 and you will be allowed to post to the other boards. This was done to make it easier to manage spammers.

Yes, maybe I am reason why this happened :D :D

Anyway, can't get work because of this:

4.11.2014. 9:54:03 | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: too many uploads in progress

So - turn that OFF so I can get work even without upload.

BOINC wont allow downloads from a project that has 3 or more uploads stalled.

May I suggest you reconnect to Einstein or Rosetta accounts... Setting their resource share to 0 (Back up Mode) should only download 1 WU per idle core (I think) at a time while SETI queue is dry.

Actually, the formula for disallowing downloads is number of uploads waiting or in progress for the project > number of CPUs.
