v7.00 crashes entire desktop

seti@home occasionally crashes my entire desktop, that is all running apps. It's as though every application is immediately killed. This happens on both a Win7 64-bit laptop and Windows 8.1 64-bit on a tower box. The environments are entirely different but both show this all-kill bug. It happens after seti@home has been running and the mouse is moved or keyboard touched. The screensaver is not used, only computing in the background. It is a serious problem because it crashes everything, even running VMs. Obviously it is completely unacceptable as I have repeatedly lost work and time. After 15 years of computer for SETI and being in the top 1% I'm find myself seriously considering removing it entirely. |

You might consider posting your problem in the main forums "Number Crunching" section as it has lots of knowledge people. This part of the forums is really for people who have no RAC and therefore cannot post on the main forums. It is rare for problems not to be sorted out at number crunching. |
