Space 1999. It is like "Star Trek" but on Valium.

I just read a brief synopsis of that show; it sounds interesting and vaguely familiar. I think I may have seen some episodes, many moons ago.

Oh those moon base girls..... :-D

Cheers.

No that is another Gerry Anderson series UFO

The Lucy Show season 1 episode 9: Lucy Puts Up a TV Antenna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjzFit2SFCU

That's a good one, but two of my personal favorites are from the original I Love Lucy. One is where her and Ethel take apart and try to put back together a backyard barbeque because she thinks her ring is cemented into it, and the other one is when she's on a plane with a huge tube of cheese, pretending it's a baby, to avoid duty tax.

A lot of early telivison shows came from radio series.
I lsiten to Radio Clasics on Sirus XM 82. I love those old shows.
Thanks for rekindling some nice memories.

Edit- It was Highway Patrol with Biderick Crawford.

I wish there were normal over-the-air radio stations that broadcast that stuff.

WRVO FM 89.9 out of Oswego NY does do a show from 10 PM untill 12:00 PM they also have a website that cobroadcast its. Ill post the link in an edit.

Edit- here is the link Gordan.WRVO

Nice. Thanks for that, James. Now if I can just find a few old episodes of "Betty and Bob". ~My mom loved that radio soap as a kid.

Now this is cool; I just found ~ Radio Mystery Theater. I can apparently download the programs to CD's so I can take the disc in the living room and listen to it!

How about Starsky and Hutch.

I remember that! My sister and I used to play that, I was the blond cop and she was the one with the black hair:))

What about the A-Team and McGyver, oh, loved those shows as a kid!

Well seems I must have been a UFO fan

The SHADO HQ was famous for the girls with purple hair.

No the SHADO HQ was famous for people with fairly normal hair

MOONBASE was famous for girls with purple hair.

And Sky-Diver for people wearing string vests

These things matter to a fan.

Just watched a episode of UFO. The costumes were unique to each place the people worked.

But of course you can't be a REAL scifi fan unless you were there in 1953 following Jet Morgan and Journey into Space on the radio! Or more probably in those days the wireless. So called because it didn't have any! Well only those to the plug as against the telegraph :-)

It would be difficult for me to have been there, since my parents were in about 7th grade at the time.

them dark ages.

Look, we were born back when the
whole world was in black and white,
not the "Dark Ages!"
Why back in 1953 I almost lost my
virginity, I only missed by just 20
years or so.

LOL. Well I was born in 52. We never had a TV set until 57. I think the screen was the same size as a kidle. Black and white only. Then in 1962 my grandfather bought a color TV. It was a 21 inch. The first color show I ever saw was the wizard of Ozz. At my house we didnt get a color TV untill 1969. Thats when we got my grandfathers old tv set. I never saw Star Trek in color.
In 1976 I bought an RCA 25" color TV it was like furniture. Cost me my income tax refund, But i had that TV until 1983.
No, Im not knocking you young folk, But I could still get off my ass and change a channel by hand if I had to, Or put a tape in a VHS machine. Or play a record on a turntable, Or even thread a tape on a reel to reel.
But to be honest I have to ask my Grandkids how to do certain functions on my smart phone.

The last 20 years have seen a giant leap in technology.
And I like that you can see just about any show ever made on you tube or the equivalent.
