Eric's post clears up a lot of questions. Would it be appropriate for someone to 'say a few words' over Bruno? Other than the words the techs have been saying for several days. Bruno 'we hardly knew ye'.............. |

Nice way to roll out a new Version Give people a taste. Get the machines all set for AP V7 and then take them off line. I have 5 CPU tasks left and I do not crunch MB anymore so off line I go What a waste of machines. Michael |

Is there a problem with the credits getting posted? I see it did not budge for days now. Miklos |

I bet with a talented kitty like yours you never need a computer tech. |

Is there a problem with the credits getting posted? I see it did not budge for days now. Something tells me the daily stats dump may have been one of the duties Bruno carried out. It may be a decision between being able to upload completed results or generate stats. If I want to know how much credit I have I just look at http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/home.php SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Nice way to roll out a new Version I know it's frustrating. Never forget, though, that calling SETI a shoestring operation is an insult to shoestrings. They have little money, little manpower, and the whole thing keeps going by sheer force of will and the infinite patience of it's citizen calculators. |

We are quite fortunate there was a 'retired' machine from another project available. The wait could have been much longer. |

Looks like there are some AP's being sent. Just to point out those tasks aren't 'new', they're commonly called 'resends' - one of the original hosts they were sent to have failed to return a result within the deadline so they're being resent to other hosts. See the task marked in red in the last one you received. Soli Deo Gloria |

I have 5 CPU tasks left and I do not crunch MB anymore so off line I go I can't see what your issue is. You choose not to do any MB work, so you are the one that chooses to waste the resource. Grant Darwin NT |

MB splitters are all offline bar one, so we should be out of work in a few hours unless they all magically come back to life. Grant Darwin NT |

I like AP work like most folks do. BUT when there aint none, I do MB. Sure you can crunch other projects that pay way better. But I only crunch them when THIS project has no work at all. Which when they moved to the colo isnt that often anymore. I figure at this rate I might hit that 1 million mark for Einstein and Milkyway in a few years.
Old James |

Ten channels to go. I guess they won't last until the lab staff get in later today. Which means over to my back-up projects for a bit. Until Bruno went sick it was a long break from them now they are getting a bit more use. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Looks like all the remaining MB channels are stuck ones as ready to send buffer now fell almost to 0. |

Looks like all the remaining MB channels are stuck ones as ready to send buffer now fell almost to 0. There may have been stuck tapes, however the problem now is that there is only 1 MB splitter running and the Ready-to-Send buffer is now empty. Grant Darwin NT |

Looks like all the remaining MB channels are stuck ones as ready to send buffer now fell almost to 0. Can you imagine what it must be like to have to fight the hardware, the processes, the manpower shortage, and do all of this remotely? MAN, I don't envy the guys who keep this project patched-together and running. There must be bailing wire, bubblegum, and tape all over the place. Then you lose Bruno and have to move processes only to have something else go wrong. I sure wish we could figure-out a way to get them some badly needed additional staff. Anybody got a few million $$ laying around and need a charity to support? |

Somebody needs to kick the MB splitters. |
