My guess is sometime after the routine maintenance outage then.. gonna be quite a wait [edit] Just noticed when running 2 WU per GPU if a stock app runs in tandem with an enhanced one, the stock runs faster than it would if paired with another stock one.. Guess the one gets more CPU access than it would otherwise. Regards, Cliff, Been there, Done that, Still no damm T shirt! |

It's amazing how you and I can post here, yet the people running the joint can't. Other projects with far less resources manage to communicate with their volunteers in situations like this. The lack of communication is shameful. Dublin, California Team: SETI.USA |

Dunno about other projects resources, but Seti has very limited resources in the main those resources come from public donations, not institutional support. So Seti has a limited number of staff, who work wearing a multitude of 'hats' that doesn't make for prompt responses or very many message board posts. Although at least 1 staffer has a partner that nudges him into posting now and then:-) Even the Seti servers are partly due to a whip around by users:-) Regards, Cliff, Been there, Done that, Still no damm T shirt! |

From S@H Home page: Upload Server Problem Posted HOURS before your comment. The part time team have so many hands and hours in the day, and I would rather have them spending their time sorting the problem than telling us which buttons they are pressing on a minute by minute basis. But then again it isn't all that hard to click on "Home" in the top or bottom navigation bar of any of the forum pages. ;-) Cheers. |

Now the web pages & forums are taking forever to load. They're a touch slower here Grant, but not overly so. [edit] maybe I spoke to soon with some pages. Cheers. |

Now the web pages & forums are taking forever to load. And now they're working again. I think there's more than just the upload server having problems. Grant Darwin NT |

Glad I searched for failed uploads, I'll suspend now I know it isn't my fault. Some sort of zero day bug maybe attacking SETI servers? I'm not a complete idiot, but, I'm working on it. I have an opinion and I'm not afraid to use it |

Forums and PM page were slow earlier, better now though. They were molasses a few minutes ago, better now. Host stats pages, too. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

I am happy with the message on the Home page. At least we know they are aware of it and are dealing with it. We don't need a blow by blow report of what they are doing about it in real time. It might have been useful to have added "Consequently the standard Tuesday outage may be longer this week". That would have covered themselves against comments received last week. As I said then, I am going to assume that Seti could go down at any time from 7.30am PST for up to 7 hours, and allow for it, so I don't get inconvenienced again. At this point, I'm assuming that whoever was working on it last night gave up and went to bed, and further, whatever fix they implement will be part of today's outrage. It's possible they will start early because they know they have to deal with this problem. As I type, it's 0630 PST. Let's see what happens. From S@H Home page: You're right. I don't ever of to the home page here, and was relying on my RSS reader to show me new news posts. But it looks like the RSS feed here is broken. There is nothing new in the RSS feed since the Aug 28th post. I guess the admins have something else to fix. Dublin, California Team: SETI.USA |

From S@H Home page: I don't think an update every say, 6 hrs is too much to ask though, is it? The initial post on the home page occured some 12 hrs after the event started, and it's now almost 15 hrs since the original post. Would be nice to know if progress was being made. P. |

But it looks like the RSS feed here is broken. There is nothing new in the RSS feed since the Aug 28th post. I guess the admins have something else to fix. Normally the RSS feed here shows news from the News forum. When someone just puts a notice on the front page -- without using the Technical News forum -- then no notice is sent about that news, no RSS feed either. That said, it does look like the RSS feed and the News forum don't match up. I'll fire David a note. Never hurts to check. |

Since the upload servers are out, my rigs are all out of work. Falling back to my spare project for now. Hope all is back to normal soon. |
