I'm not sure what has gone wrong, but my Windows 7 work station has quit receiving GPU work units. All of my preferences seem to be correct. What can I do to get this corrected? Suggestions? |

Suggestions?I suggest you start by unhiding your computers and posting the first 30 lines of the BOINC event log so we can see what is happening (or not happening). |

I'm having the same problem with my GeForce 9800 GTX+ card. The GPU is recognized by BOINC but your servers never send any GPU work units to my system. As per your instructions I've included the startup lines from the BOINC event log... 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Starting BOINC client version 7.2.42 for windows_x86_64 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Libraries: libcurl/7.25.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1 zlib/1.2.6 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Running under account Allen 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 9800 GTX+ (driver version 340.52, CUDA version 6.5, compute capability 1.1, 512MB, 415MB available, 705 GFLOPS peak) 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 9800 GTX+ (driver version 340.52, device version OpenCL 1.0 CUDA, 512MB, 415MB available, 705 GFLOPS peak) 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Host name: Archimedes 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz [Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 7] 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 syscall nx lm vmx smx tm2 pbe 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Ultimate x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Memory: 8.00 GB physical, 16.00 GB virtual 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Disk: 931.41 GB total, 353.43 GB free 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Local time is UTC -5 hours 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Config: use all coprocessors 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | SETI@home | URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5469774; resource share 100 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | SETI@home | General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 29-Oct-2014 16:11:29) 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | SETI@home | Computer location: home 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | General prefs: using separate prefs for home 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Reading preferences override file 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Preferences: 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | max memory usage when active: 4095.28MB 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | max memory usage when idle: 7371.50MB 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | max disk usage: 100.00GB 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | max CPUs used: 3 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | don't use GPU while active 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 15% 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager) 11/13/2014 5:22:42 PM | | Not using a proxy 11/13/2014 5:22:55 PM | | Suspending GPU computation - computer is in use 11/13/2014 5:22:55 PM | SETI@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 11/13/2014 5:22:55 PM | SETI@home | Requesting new tasks for NVIDIA 11/13/2014 5:22:57 PM | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 11/13/2014 5:23:05 PM | | Suspending computation - CPU is busy 11/13/2014 5:23:56 PM | | Resuming computation 11/13/2014 5:24:06 PM | | Suspending computation - CPU is busy 11/13/2014 5:24:16 PM | | Resuming computation 11/13/2014 5:24:27 PM | | Suspending computation - CPU is busy 11/13/2014 5:24:37 PM | | Resuming computation 11/13/2014 5:24:47 PM | | Suspending computation - CPU is busy 11/13/2014 5:25:27 PM | | Resuming computation 11/13/2014 5:25:37 PM | | Suspending computation - CPU is busy This problem has persisted for at least 2 months... When checking the project preferences, have you checked that it says "Use Nvidia GPU"? If not, enjoy your preference accordingly. Make sure they are for the correct venue/location that your computer is set for: home. |

Make sure they are for the correct venue/location that your computer is set for: home. I would bet it is the block that SETI put in place against the 34x.xx drivers on older (Pre-Fermi) GPU's. I would recommend going back to 337.88 and seeing if that allows work. http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/75991/en-us |

If not, enjoy your preference accordingly. Stupid phone. I meant "change" not "enjoy". Teaches me to not triple check what I swiped. |

I verified that "Use NVIDIA GPU" is checked in my preference section. I just downloaded and installed the older NVIDIA driver package. I'll post a follow-up message with the results... Thanks for you comments. I wonder why the SETI folks blocked the newest NVIDIA driver release... -Allen |

I wonder why the SETI folks blocked the newest NVIDIA driver release... It's because Nvidia dropped support for older (pre-Fermi) videocards from those drivers. See @Pre-FERMI nVidia GPU users: Important warning for a lot more information. |

The older drivers brought the CUDA work units flowing back into my PC. Thanks for the advice! I guess it is time to read through the "@Pre-FERMI nVidia GPU users: Important warning" notes... Best Regards, -Allen |
