Got a cold or deadly man flu win.

Get well soon my friend!

Good morning win.... Yesterday I dialed a 11 digit phone number by mistake and someone actually answered. As far as I know fix numbers in Belgium have 9 digits and cellphone numbers have 10, but 11? And the strange thing is I actually got a connection...

As the below link says, no 11 digits possible in a Belgian phone number (?)

Depending on the phone and system it probably only uses the first 10.

Message 1588711 - Posted: 18 Oct 2014, 15:42:13 UTC

Good morning everyone. :-)

I had to replace my home telephone sets... The nine year old Uniden system I had was causing noise and the cordless sets would lose connectivity to the live line when in use.

Now I have a new AT&T cordless system. A base unit with answering machine, and four handsets. I just finished loading my phone directory into the new system; and, I'm conditioning the batteries in the cordless units, one at a time. They are all currently fully charged; but, as I learned from the Uniden system, running each new battery down to low once and then letting the cordless units remain on the chargers unless in use on a call, the batteries last many years. Two of the Uniden's batteries lasted a full nine years before the whole system upended and croaked. So, I expect the AT&T batteries to last just as long once conditioned. I know they say you don't have to condition them; but, I think it's best.

I made a couple calls yesterday from the AT&T base unit, (while the handsets were charging), and I asked each person I talked to how my speaker phone sounded. They both said they were surprised that it was on speaker, they thought I was on a closed handset. So, that's awesome! Now I need to test a handset and see if the quality matches. I'm sure it will.

I hope that this system lasts more than nine years though. I know electronics die; however, a phone system should last a LONG time in my opinion. Nine years is long, but it should have gone longer...

What brand is it? I would have bought another Uniden system; however, Staples doesn't carry Uniden anymore. I'm going to miss my old ringtone, too. (Fur Elise.) The AT&T ringtones are pretty basic.

You're right Bernie. I just tried Lisa's # and added one digit. I got a connection, thanx:)
