I saw SETI in the list of projects available on my phone (android GS4) recently so I tried running some tasks, but they all seem to be failing - "error while computing". Anyone else having this problem?

1) What Android version do you use? 2) Try these optimized apps instead: http://nativeboinc.org/site/uncat/downloads http://files.nativeboinc.org/boinc_apps/setiathome-distrib-0.2.zip Also, I would recomment to try NativeBOINC from that site. Maybe you could find it more convenient to use than stock one. |

Android 4.4.4 - cyanogenmod 11. I tried nativeboinc a while ago and wasn't a huge fan, I prefer to use the stock boinc app if possible. It works fine for other projects, I just noticed that all the seti tasks were failing. |

Android 4.4.4 - cyanogenmod 11. Have you tried it on Beta? The current app there is 7.28. Has been for months. For those it works for, it works better than 7.21. Beta isn't in the list of projects to join on Android. You have to type it in. Experiencing the same problem. The current version for Android is known to have that problem on some devices. The only thing you can do about it is switch to a different project. I suggest you try Seti Beta, if and when it ever comes back on line. There's a different app version there. Not an error, but a comment and a question. Comment: I see 7.21 is still finding an extra triplet sometimes. Question: do Android Boinc apps obey the resource allocation settings from your account settings page on the web site? Not an error, but a comment and a question. Depends your settings on your phone. Device settings always override web preferences. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Not an error, but a comment and a question. The phone client doesn't have a resource share setting. I don't think the regular client does either, for that matter. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Not an error, but a comment and a question. Boinc for Android doesn't use Web Computing preferences, only the on device setting, So it can't override the Web Setting: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=global These preferences do not apply to Android devices. No Manager has ways of entering project preferences, So that is wrong too: Resource share Determines the proportion of your computer's resources allocated to this project. Example: if you participate in two BOINC projects with resource shares of 100 and 200, the first will get 1/3 of your resources and the second will get 2/3. %2 100 Use CPU Enforced by version 6.10+ yes Use ATI GPU Enforced by version 6.10+ yes Use NVIDIA GPU Enforced by version 6.10+ yes Use Intel GPU Enforced by version 7.2+ yes Is it OK for SETI@home and your team (if any) to email you? Question: do Android Boinc apps obey the resource allocation settings from your account settings page on the web site? Maybe, Can't see anything in the Manager saying how the resource allocation is set, You could try the logging flags to see if anything is mentioned. Claggy |

I have the same problem with with bulk of my WU after processing upto 90% of the WU is reported as Computation Error. It is really frustrating to see almost every unit fail. I have processed over 30 units, but I think only 2-3 have not resulted in a Computation Error. Android Device is a HTC One (M7), running the standard BOINC client. I am also running Einstein with no apparent problems. I would like to continue running SETI, but at the moment it just does not seem worth it if all the tasks are just going to fail. Any help would be appreciated. |

I've tried both HTC's app that comes with the phone and then tried with BOINC app from the play store. I've given up a week later, both were giving computation error. |

I have the same issue on my MotoX (1st Gen). Every WU ends up computing error. One thing i do notice is when viewing the tasks it seems to be pausing, but it's only briefly and does hit the log. Is there a way to get the log to report what the error is? |
