Unless you notice a bunch of inconclusive results becoming marked as invalid, you shouldn't need to worry about this. It simply means that the validator didn't find a strong enough match between results for the task. In your particular case, the other result is an overflow of 30 auto-correlation count, which I would say is more likely to be invalid than your result. Soli Deo Gloria |

It's a perfectly valid question, don't feel ashamed to ask. In your case, I saw this task being marked as inconclusive. Your computer returned these results: Spike count: 2 Autocorr count: 1 Pulse count: 2 Triplet count: 0 Gaussian count: 0 ...while the other computer returned this: SETI@Home Informational message -9 result_overflow Spike count: 0 Autocorr count: 30 Pulse count: 0 Triplet count: 0 Gaussian count: 0 In the majority of cases I've seen, the overflow result is the invalid one, so I think it's safe to say your result is correct. And if you take a look at that other computer's tasks list you'll see that it produces a lot of invalid results. ;-) Cheers. |
