My PC has on-board graphics, and a graphics card. Currently the on-board graphics are disabled in the Bois, but I wonder, can they be turned on and used?

My settings are for "Show computers = Yes" so it should not be hidden. It is 7243927.

The card is an AMD Radion R7 200 series.

The integrated graphics system is (according to the MB manual) an "ATI Radeon HD3000"

Yeah, Check the BIOS. See if you can change the default display adapter to your on board graphics card. Then try setting it up. This should allow your OS to see both cards.

Also, If its possible keep the on board from getting disabled, the BIOS is where you would do it from.

No, too old to be of use, it do not support OpenCL

And I doubt the driver (Catalyst 14.4) installed for your AMD Bonaire (2048MB) will recognize the Radeon HD3000

now the SETI@home runs only on nVidia!

can it run on both? nVidia QUADRO 2000 (on PCIe) and on on-board intel HD2500?

You will need to enable PEG in your BIOS setting find Integrated Graphics and then save in BIOS Setting and reboot Windows. You will need to install Integrated Graphics Driver and Windows may ask you to reboot after completing the installation of your Integrated Graphic Driver. The most important thing is to change the settings in the BIOS. Please go to the configuration tab>video>integrated graphics device> set to “always enable”

I was under the impression the Quadro chip was a mobile-only variant.


I don't know if this is still needed for multi-GPUs setups in recent versions of BOINC, but you used to have to create a file called "cc_config.xml" in your BOINC data folder (default location is C:\ProgramData\BOINC, a hidden folder), containing the following lines:

<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>

</cc_config>

Otherwise, by default BOINC only uses the first GPU device found by the BIOS/UEFI and ignores all others. Be sure to create the file in plain text / ASCII format. Then you can either go to BOINC Manager and select the Advanced dropdown menu and choose "Read config files", or you can simply exit and re-open BOINC.

Drivers for Intel HD2500 were download from here!
Still no change...after restart Intel Control Console doesn't work...and still same error from BOINC...

Will try to install intel OpelCL SDK, as it is mentioned here, from this link.

You said that a new Nvidia card was added to the machine. That means that the monitor connection went from the motherboard video-outlet to the Nvidia card video-outlet.

Most graphics cards/chips require a monitor attached to the video-outlet for the card/chip to be recognized as an active GPU. If you do not have more than one monitor, there are options for this:

1. Use a dummy VGA plug. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can make one yourself.
2. Most modern monitors have both a VGA and DVI outlet. You can attach a cable to both and attach the other ends to the two graphics outlets on the Nvidia card and motherboard. It's possible that this also works with a HDMI cable.

There is a third option, but I am not sure if that works, I never tried that. Apparently you can check in the Nvidia graphics settings if it's possible to extend the desktop over both graphics cards.

Connected the one monitor to intel HD2500 & another to nVidia Quadro 2000...both videos work, but not GPU on intel...
restart of the BOINC, didn't work! :(

EDIT: restart WORKED...it must be that, it needs dummy's or monitor!
I choosed dual cards on dual monitors...that way I speed up the processes in one of the Excel tables! and doing CREO only the biggest monitor powered by nVidia card... ;)

The lack of some form of monitor (dummy or otherwise) connected to the on-board graphics explains one possible reason I can not get it to work. I think I will just accept that "It is not as simple as I hoped" and leave things as they are. Thank you all for your comments. :)

Why giving up? When you can get dummy probably for under a $1... ;)
Or buy yourself another monitor...some people took me for insane for hooking dual displays to dual VGA...and then I showed them how slow SETI@home makes a dual display...but not with the single display...not even on HD2500 intel...
