Hello! I just found out about this project (the server sharing part) on cspan the day I signed up and just want to make sure I am set up correctly and am providing valid processing. I noticed some invalid results on my log and just want to make sure I;m contributing not hindering. Any suggestions will be most appreciated. And if we do succeed I just want to make a preliminary welcome to our new alien Overlords, we make great pets as the song said. ;)

Bear there is a problem with the validation of units they know about it . It seems to be doing MB ok but AP are not getting validated so it's not your end it at seti . And being a weekend don't expect it to be fixed till at least monday but they may wait till tuesday.

So if you wish to get full credit for woork done then only go MB's till they fix it .

MB = Multi Beam seti v 7 units
AP = Astropulse seti v 6 units

so if you wish to stop AP just change your setting at your account not to do them just uncheck Astropulse

Credit? Not my driving force here, I can get my own peanuts. ;) Thanks for the astropulse info, its all still all greeky to me while I am a voracious sci fi literature fanatic since Asimov in the 70's professionally I'm much more comfortable with residential and commercial construction than I am with science and computers. As long as I'm not screwing up results I'll just let it run as seti wants it to. Thanks for your time.

Bear, the one Astropulse task still showing in your list appears to have processed OK. Any invalid results have been purged, so I can't guess the cause. The AP validator problem has nothing to do with the invalid tasks, when it's not running no validation decisions are being made.

Your HD 54xx GPU is using driver: 1.4.815 and that predates any of the drivers shown on HAL9000's ATI Driver Version Cheat Sheet. That may be why the (cal_ati) application was sent, even though the GPU should be able to use OpenCL applications. Someone else with a Cedar GPU can probably advise you about which drivers would be better on your Windows 7 system. The OpenCL applications use the GPU much more effectively than (cal_ati) where most of the processing is done on your Phenom rather than the GPU.

joe this is his computer stats

AstroPulse v6 6.08 windows_intelx86 (cal_ati)
Number of tasks completed 0
Max tasks per day 33
Number of tasks today 0
Consecutive valid tasks 0
Average turnaround time 0.00 days

notice there are no units validated yet so none are invalid . He's is a new bee and thought the pending was invalid's

But you are right about the driver he could update that

the only other stats there are for V7 units and he has done 19 of them

Actually I saw the invalid result by happenstance while poking around in the results page. I clicked on the individual completed task and that broke down into separate pieces of the job I think , anyway the fist task was marked invalid, I did notice that it only had an individual run time of something like 20 secs compared to thousands in the other "tasks". As for nothing being valid yet I really don't understand that, my end shows numerous validated results and applied 'credit' but as long as my machine is doing it correctly thats what matters. I would gladly accept any good advice on driver updates to increase productivity on my end. Would just love to help prove whats his name , Fermi I think, right.

Been reading some of the info about some of your machines and what is done or devoted to this, I feel like a pouge, I'm just setting the laptop on the AC floor grate to keep it cooler, but you can help move a mountain with a spoon (just not much) ;)

There is a link on the page for the full version list going back to Cat 9.2. Which I think is the oldest supported driver by any of the apps. The OP is on Cat 10.9 it looks like & the HD 5450 is listed as supporting OpenCL 1.2. So I would imagine Cat 14.9 would be OK for it.
