That is an extremely great and important statement.

Right at the moment I am reading a three volume set about Nazi Germany. The author is Richard J. Evans. There is so much detail in this book that I was unaware of. I'm just amazed and stunned that the whole thing could have happened. I spent 2.5 years in Germany in the Army. I wish I had read this book before I was there except that it was first published in around 2006.

We cannot change the past, but we can surely learn from it & the only way to do that is to ask questions - not only of ourselves but of others as well.
