How far back does RAC calculate 60, 90, 120 days? Is there a fixed decay rate like something simple like .1% per day or are we into calculus. I remember looking at the actual formulae a few years back but it put me into a dizzy spell which I haven't yet gotten over. |

How big is your rack? Well, some us us remember when all the guys here were commenting on Angela's RAC and Eric mentioned how it was a bit strange having us talking about his wife's RAC. |

I've just started building a new computer. I ordered the case and MB 1 or 2 days ago, can't remember which. I'm really addicted to the build my own. Couldn't stand having that flakey dell thing around. |

yeah, I've always been with intel. I don't know the first thing about amd cpu's. Wouldn't even feel comfortable with them. Hope your computer gets well soon. merle - vote yes for freedom of speech |

I've leart the hard way 2 PSU stuffed and still i gotta bet another 1 no cheapo options . All ready spent what i saved and i have still to get Liquid cooling and possibly a new mobo even thou the mobo is suposed to take this chip grrrr Mobo i have has 4+1 power design and i think i need the 8+2 for this chip . If i had the cash i would toss the chip and mobo out and never ever touch AMD again , First and only time i break my own rule don't buy AMD . That rule i made a long time ago as AMD kernel is not compatible with Apple Mac OSX so i't's very hard to run a vertual machine as a Mac . Intel is ok |

yeah, I've always been with intel. I don't know the first thing about amd cpu's. Wouldn't even feel comfortable with them. Apparently if you want to build a multi GPU cruncher that doesn't rely heavily on the CPU then an AMD CPU can be an option. I'm often curious how certain products of theirs would run some things, but never enough to actually spend money on them. Hal, Are you saying that amd is a better option if you want to build a multiple gpu cruncher or are you saying something else? |

Hal, I was saying AMD CPUs are an option. Just as setting yourself on fire is an option when cooking. Personally I wouldn't suggest either one. :P I'm not really up to date on all of their products, but the Tom's Hardware CPU hierarchy chart has their top end products on parallel with Core 2 Quad & first generation Core i CPUs from Intel.
