Type 2 diabetes, Nope, tested negative.
high blood pressure, Nope, tested negative.
metabolic syndrome, doubt it, since this runs in families, yes I binged it.
heart disease, Nope, tested negative.
stroke, none in My family, except in My aunt, then it might be cause of the pacemaker She had, She was 88.
cancer, so far nope.
breathing disorders, I have asthma, since age 3 years.
gallbladder disease, an MRI that I had said Negative for that back before 2002.
fertility problems, No comment.
sexual dysfunction, No comment.
fatty liver disease, an MRI that I had said Negative for that back before 2002.
osteoarthritis, had this from a fall when I was 18, from a dislocated shoulder joint.

The scale I use is either the one here or at Vons, neither is medically accurate, Mine is off by at least 12lbs.

Maybe I should go to a Vet, some have scales good enough to weigh a horse, yes I once got weighed on one, another reason to move to Hesperia or Victorville or Adelanto CA.

Message 1803437 - Posted: 19 Jul 2016, 6:49:17 UTC

After a bad year of very high blood pressure 190s
or so over 100, I had a final check up from the Doc'
to-day. The numbers have stayed down into the low
130s over high 60s. My doctor was so pleased that
she forgot and addressed me by my first name. We
were both shocked! Now as my weight is going down
and my over all health is getting better than any
one even me expected, we are now watching to see
when I can go off the meds I am still taking. I am
very excited that my good luck is translating back
to the work world.

edit:
Gee all this and good looks too.....

Vic, I think you mis-understood my question. I certainly wasn't implying that you should post your health report card, especially the more personal stuff (Merciful heavens!!!), but congratulations on being so healthy.

I only asked you whether you thought that the health screenings that your doctor orders for you and the advice that your doctor gives you would be different if your doctor knew your exact weight on the day of an appointment, as opposed to your doctor knowing your approximate, self-reported weight on the day of an appointment.

My argument is that having a scale that records your exact weight would probably not change what your doctor says to you or what health screenings your doctor orders for you.

If (heaven forbid!!!) you had to have surgery, then an exact weight recording would probably be warranted so that you could be properly and safely anesthetized, but for an ordinary doctor's visit I simply cannot imagine any difference your actual weight vs your recorded weight would make in how your doctor manages your care.

I must confess to be rather blessed in terms of my overall constitution.
I have weighed between 150 and 160lbs. for as long as I can remember. Like, for 40 years. And most of the deviation within that range is water weight going up and down.

I eat rather robustly, but I also have a rather physical job, which no doubt burns plenty of calories each day, even though I do not do a lick of 'exercise' per se.

I climb on and off of fire trucks for 11 hours a day, up and down and walk all over the plant to acquire parts and supplies I need. Miles a day. And on the weekends, although I spend a good deal of time here on my butt in front of the computer, I also mow my lawn, and do a lot of tasks for Lori which she is does not have the stamina to do on her own. Like hauling 40lb. pails of kitty litter up and down the basement stairs, etc.....

Yes, I am very lucky, and I realize not everybody is so.

Meow.

If you are comfortable with your weight, all is good.
Just make sure you hang upside down from the sturdier branches, OK?
Wouldn't want you fallin' on your noggin.

I am going off to slumber with the kitties now.
Laying horizontally, as is MY usual method of repose.

Hang tight.

Lets see the idea there is take in some info, but health screenings?

HAHAHA!

I have never had one of those, that's not something they have done, or even mentioned, but then I get Medi-Cal(Medicaid in the rest of the US), though I do have a Health Care Provider(IEHP), I'm lucky that I'm seen at all, Medi-Cal reimbursement rates to providers was cut by 10% a few years back, when that happened I had to find a New Doctor, I can't even get a Flu shot from My Doctors office, though Rite-Aide did step up finally.

I am eligible for a treadmill, but that would mean My mobile home would need electrical work, the circuits in the living room are full. In short I could have one, but I could never plug it in, at least not until the work was done.

I could even mention stuff that certain members of Congress wants to do to people like Me, like(for example only):

"won't work? Starve..."

But that would be politics...

I stepped on the scale today, for the first time in almost two months. When last I looked, I was holding between 235 and 240. Today I am 245.

I suspect it is the heat, and the stresses of the past two months. I have not gotten as much exercise as I should, and I am drinking more than 1 (US) gallon of water and juice a day to stay hydrated in the 100+F heat. Probably going to start walking and/or working in the yard early in the morning.

Good luck with the yardwork.
I am not venturing outside today....more 90ish temps and still sticky as heck.

I remember visits to Milwaukee, Brookfield, and Winneconne in the summer. High humidity and mosquitos - not fun. I also remember Charleston summers - 85F, 85% humidity. But you learn to deal with it, or you move elsewhere. No place has perfect weather, not even Hawai'i - they're getting whacked by a Tropical Storm today.
