Thank you for the updates gang. Celttooth 25lbs is fantastic progress and an achievement to be proud of. Congratulations ! I'm curious. 25 lbs is a considerable amount of weight to shed and you would have gone from almost 250 to about 225, right ? I myself started at 226 so I know how *living* at 226 is like but I can only imagine how everyday life happens at 250. Do you generaly feel better overall ? Maybe less fatigued, more energetic, more nimble? Or do you just find yourself having thoughts like "dang it getting my dang clothes out of the dang dryer should not be this dang hard" less often? Are you motivated by your progress to set similar goals for the next year ? Tell me tell me :) Vic, Donald I truly hope things go better this time around. I know it must be a downer to look back at the past year and see little results. Please dot not sulk and create yourself a case of 'victim syndrome': use those feelings to bolster your resolve and motivate you to get this done! Change occurs through action. I am also reluctant to post my own results because I'm not sure if my story would be inspiring or discouraging to those who are struggling. I'll keep it succinct for now, you guys let me know if you want more. I 'lost' 50 out of 226 pounds. I'm putting quotes around that because I did not 'lose' those pounds I know exactly where they went. I reached the target weight I had set for myself when I started. I am exalted and I sincerely wish you could all feel this way too. mambo |

Little disappointed, but not upset. I know I didn't get as much exercise this off-season as I should have (and usually do), but I am happy that I am not gaining weight. One of my co-workers had to take last year off due to health issues. He is 6'7" and weighs 425, and has all the issues you would expect - arthritis, diabetes, heart issues, teeth issues, gout, back pain, balance problems. Two years ago he fell in an open area of the work floor that had nothing he could use to pull himself upright - took 3 of us to get him back on his feet. Working to keep myself from getting into that kind of shape. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Actually weighed myself Wednesday morning, but didn't make it to the Forums until late that night. I was at 235. I have had a very stressful summer, between that and the heat, I have not gotten the consistent exercise I usually get in the summertime. I go back to work sometime in the next two weeks. We'll see how this cotton season goes. And a week later, I am still at 235. Schedule still erratic, stress levels high, but not pigging out on bacon, lasagna, or ice cream like I feared I might. Although sitting in that booth at the Home Improvement Show last week, right next to the Food Court, was a real challenge..... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

I have a friend who was an airline stewardess who was on the Atkins diet and loved it. She bragged about eating a whole turkey. ;~) The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Going to the dr. tomorrow. Will get weighed and probably yelled at. I think I'm down a bit, but not as much as she'd like. I have plenty of other stuff to talk to her about. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

If I went to the Doctor, the scale would read beyond the 300lb mark, into a blank area, since the scale only goes to 300lbs, I'd asked for a larger scale, the guy who owns the Clinic seems to have ignored that request. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Will get back on weekly weigh-in sched on Wednesday. Last time I looked, I was down to 234. See if I can break out of the 230-240 band I've been in for the past ten years..... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |
