I'd go to a Gym and do weight training to strengthen My muscles, but I don't think Medi-Cal will pay for that, like for My back, part of My increased weight pulls on My spine, being 6'1" isn't all that great, but I'm stuck with that. Actually Vic you should look into some simple Calisthenics. My Dad (who is 86) does them while doing mundane tasks such as washing dishes. It's kept him in VERY good shape |

I'd go to a Gym and do weight training to strengthen My muscles, but I don't think Medi-Cal will pay for that, like for My back, part of My increased weight pulls on My spine, being 6'1" isn't all that great, but I'm stuck with that. Simple? Nothing is simple when you weigh over 350lbs, exercise especially, at one time I could run a mile without getting winded on rolling terrain(that took months of training with a place to do that at in the Army, where I grew up at We had nothing of the sort), I could do 100 situps in less than 1 minute, I could do chin ups with 1 arm, just like My Dad could, but then I was near 190lbs back then some 35 years ago. In July I turn 55. The last time I tried to run before I broke a leg and got a ruined left ankle for My trouble, I'd fallen on My face in the attempt to run, I've had arthritis since at least 40 years old, first in My shoulders and now in My hips, all from dislocations, some obvious and loud, most not obvious, all that was needed was a fall to get a dislocation. Heck some of My weight pulls on My spine, so I can't stand for long without some support, being 6'1" tall and having an enlarged abdomen is not all it's cracked up to be, that combo can be painful, oh and remember the situps? Those are crunches, the abdomen is distorted partly cause of that. I have trouble getting down on My knees, since being on My knees has been painful since I was 12 years old, in 1 years time I went from being 4.5' tall to be being 5'10.75" tall and I was a 12 year old, the school I went to had no equipment for someone of My height, I was the tallest kid there, as tall as some of the adults. The playground equipment the school had was ok, they had rubber mats and steel rings suspended by steel chains, I could be on My knees and hold the rings firmly in My hands and still be on the ground, so as a result I didn't get much development, Junior High was another matter, they had exercise equipment that used weights, but it wasn't used too much by US kids, no matter how much we needed it and the air was something to fight for breath in, cause We had Los Angeles's Smoggy air to deal with and back then when seen from a far, the smog looked like the color of sand and the smog was very thick too, if you lived there you could look up and see blue sky, but all around the smog was there, this started to start to get cleaner after a bit, but then I'm old enough to have seen freeways being built along with whole subdivisions of houses back in the 1960's in the south bay of Los Angeles County. Not suggesting situps, pushups or running in any fashion. Simple movements you can do sitting in a chair or standing at a counter with support. I'll try to find a site for you. These are workouts my Personal Trainer came up with specifically for people with skeletal or weight issues. |

I've been eating breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, my weight remains status-quo I think. Cannot check it as my scales still don't have batteries.. +1 The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

With all the stuff going on last weekend, I didn't even think about getting on the scale. Thinking about shifting my weigh-ins to Wednesdays, so busy (or indulgent) weekends don't skew the results. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Burp! (I guess.) 223 pounds, I don't know why, we had almost uninterrupted BBQ up until last Wednesday. It seems my doctor's scales read three pounds less than mine do, I don't think I'll do a correction on my scales.... Good luck every one else! |

When I went to see my doctor's nurse practitioner last week, I was down about 9 pounds from the last visit. This may or may not be due to the new med I'm taking, but even if it is, I still hate the med and want off of it. A scale was available in the Uk, but I avoided it. Every thing fit coming and returning. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |
