Looked at your recipe - definitely a northern style cornbread. With butter and honey sounds nice.I might bake some more tomorrow, it's a bit hot today for baking (31C),and try the honey on it. @Vic That sounds interesting Vic. |

Looked at your recipe - definitely a northern style cornbread. Corn bread also goes great with a plate full of beans. My roommate and I always had disagreements over this because she was southern and I was northern. She liked southern corn bread and complained northern bread had to much sugar in it. I though southern corn bread was dry and tastes. I liked Boston baked beans and she liked boiled beans with a little pork (bacon, ham, hammocks) added. In any case, whatever was served was consumed. This type of meal would be considered poor food because you can feed a bunch of people for very little. For the most part these ingredients could be stored without refrigeration. It might also be commonly found on cattle drives or with wagon trains moving west. |

173.2 I am hoping this is just because I forgot to weigh myself this morning and that I am heavier in the evening from having eaten breakfast and lunch and several cups of tea... |

Weight unknown, the scales batteries are dead. Grace likes to lay on part of the scale, the scale will say 'Hello, weight 0.6lbs, goodbye' and then either stay off or the scale will with power, do the same thing over and over again, until Grace gets up and goes somewhere else. Well.... I was going to skip this thread because as hard as I try, weight loss is still a bit of hit and miss for me. But, I lost four pounds last week. I found out that the scales were reading too high at the weight I am at these days. We shall see how it all goes in the next few months. 219 pounds today..... |

173.2 My weight can vary up to 4 pounds over the day. Thats why I always do my weigh in first thing in the morning before getting dressed or having a coffee. I think it,s the best time for consistent results. |

173.2 I spent the whole weekend (Friday-Sunday) going to meetings and eating at buffets, so knowing that my weight would be affected, I passed on the weigh-in. Next Monday should be a valid result..... Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Ok, I got the batteries recharged, I'd had 2 alkaline in with 2 NiMH Duracells, needless to say the alkalines are toast. 2 newer Duracell rechargeables and the scale lives, at least once the batteries were all charged, now I need 2 more Duracell AA NiMH batteries, they were spares for My camera. Oh and My weight is 399 lbs, I've gained 13 lbs since I last weighed Myself. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I am going to start posting health goals for the next day here, in hopes that posting them will goad me into doing them. I am going to tackle my total lack of will power one day at a time. Tomorrow my health goals are to: 1. Do my back stretching exercises 2. Do some aerobic exercise 3. Keep my total caloric intake to no more than 1500 calories |

Sorry to hear that you have gained a bit Vic. Now that you have your scales working it may be easier to get back on to weight loss track again. |
