Just heading out for a 6am 7km walk on the 3rd morning in a row. Still struggling with keeping the calories down.

Walking is great therapy. I did a lot of that when the father of the kids left.

If one can and the weather cooperates, then yes it is, otherwise not so much...

OK Monday morning weigh in results...

91.4kg Same as last week.

This is a pretty good result considering how much comfort food I've eaten to avoid drinking. ( 2 weeks without a drink now.)My increased exercise must have just balanced out the extra calories.
I'll have to try harder to eat less this week. :-)

No mississipis celttooth but I do use 'seconds since epoch' under certain circumstances.

This morning's weigh-in is at 196.5 pounds. Again this is a half-pound drop week-on-week and the trend continues. Quite satisfied with that result since it has been a rough week with holiday baking (fruitcake is like kryptonite for my willpower), an office party and I caught a bug so the workouts are +1 hard (cough, cough).

I don't expect to lose much faster than .5/week in the future. The workout plan I laid out for myself had me start weight training in addition to the cardio once I broke 200 pounds and that happened in the last weeks of november. From now on I am still losing fat but also (hopefully) gaining muscle mass so the net change in weight according to the scales is going to be pretty low until I reach 185 someday. At that point I'll have to measure my BMI and set new objectives or devise a maintenance plan. Sounds complicated but you need to have a goal in order to reach it, right ?

Have a good week everyone and hang in there!

Monday, you are doing great on all counts!!!

Portly little raccoon weigh-in (after a week of extreme baking involving 9 different double batches of homemade cookies and candies for our annual family holiday cookie party yesterday): 170.4 lbs.

Oh dear! Angela I think you need an assistant to do the taste testing on all those goodies. :-)

I have one. His name is Eric. He weighed 135 lbs when we met in 1992. Now he just tries to keep his weight under 200 lbs.
