Ok, it's time to invest in some more hardware. I't been a while since I looked at new hardware. I am running a GTX 460 so it's about time. Given around $350 what GPU suggestions? I could get 2 used GTX 590's or 1 GTX 770. What do you guys suggest for best RAC with lowest energy consumption? |

How many PCIe slots do you have? If you are looking for low power consumption. You could get 2 GTX 750 FTW for about $350 with a $20 rebate. But for pure crunching, you could do the 770 along with it's power consumption. Just something to think about. Zalster edit The 750 FTW need a 6 pin connector |

A gtx590 will crunch more than a gtx770, but will use more power. However, you are looking at second hand gtx590s, so they may already have had a hard life, and so be less reliable. A single GTX770 will certainly produce far more than your current GTX460 - take a look at my PCs and you will see a comparison between a GTX40 and a GTX760 is about a factor of two. (Actually, there's a thought - a pair of gtx760 might just about be in budget) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

What do you guys suggest for best RAC with lowest energy consumption? At the moment nothing else comes close to the GTX750/750Ti. 3 GTX750Tis will use less power than your old GTX460. Grant Darwin NT |

Unless they are from a trusted source, I would stay away from used GPUs. Too many bad stories about folks hawking their abused broken junk on ebay. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

First 750 Ti installed. Power consumption is way down, let's see if the rac climbs. |

First 750 Ti installed. Power consumption is way down, let's see if the rac climbs. Looks like your processing times are down to ~15min from ~22min with your new card. That is with it only consuming around 60w to boot. SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

First 750 Ti installed. Power consumption is way down, let's see if the rac climbs. Or even less power. My processing times are around 14-32 min, running 2 at a time & power use is around 70% of maximum possible with GPU load around 90% Grant Darwin NT |
