I've heard lots about the "full English breakfast", but what is your usual routine that gets you going in the morning? Simple cereal from a box, or do you cook?

I work 3rd shift, so breakfast for me is more like dinner, but I still eat breakfast-y food, like scrambled eggs, and toast. Tomato juice has become a staple ritual lately, too. If I'm going the sweet route, I go for waffles over pancakes, but doughnuts have become a recent habit, and there's a pumpkin cheesecake spice donut calling my name about an hour from now...

I just have a toast and a cup of milk to get me going.

I used to like my toast on the burnt side, but I've heard that isn't healthy, so I keep it lighter and usually rye bread.

When I was a kid I loved cereals like Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, and Cocoa Krispies, and they're still pretty good, but I tend to go more for Raisin Bran and regular Rice Krispies, and Corn Flakes nowadays. I don't think they put toys in kids' cereals anymore, either.

For me coffee and cereal, currently Alpen.

Occasionally and I state occasionally the "Full English" from the cafe across the road.

Tea and toast. On the weekends, or when I have the day off, a second cup of tea after I finish the toast.

I will often stop on the way to work at that fancy French restaurant, Jacques in le box and have a sausage croissant.

I tried some HP brown sauce at home once, but there's no place around here that serves anything like the legit Full Breakfast.

Workdays and non-working weekdays: Jimmy Dean Sausage, egg & cheese croissant sandwich, pineapple-grapefruit juice.

Non-working Wednesdays: Coffee & pastry at the Vets building. Sometimes we go to breakfast after, sometimes I hit Jack-in-the-Box or Burger King on the way home, for a couple Supreme or Sausage Croissant sandwiches.

Non-working Saturdays: Breakfast burrito, cinnamon role, and coffee at Cafe 210 Saturday Cup of Jazz.

Sundays: Eggs Benedict, hash-brown potatoes, orange juice and coffee at a local diner. Or sometimes a Meat-lover's Omelet.

It would be easier to just post the things I don't like period anytime time.

So far, I will not touch any of the sugary Cereals, well I might if that all that is left after a long long fast.

Seriously, I like variety.

I tend to get into food ruts. I went one summer eating chicken fried rice for lunch every day at work because it was cheap and right across the street from my job.

When I was a kid, my mom told me I used to demand cottage cheese and pudding every morning. :~O

When I am in Germany a Brortchen is my base.
So yes, I am in a food rut in my home country too.
BUT, BUT the toppings can vary wildly.

Weekdays, I don't eat breakfast. In the weekend it can vary from bacon and eggs to croissants or rolls. With the antibiotics nowadays, I'm obliged to eat breakfast to prevent a stomach ache.

Normal workdays, a frozen sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwich, nuked for 1 minute. Perhaps a cookie with it. Some form of caffeine once I get to work.

If I'm running ahead of schedule (hah!), I hit that other French restaurant Mac du Nald's for some sandwich or other. (Lately, that's been BOGO Egg White Delights, sub bacon for the Canadian bacon.) And a large unsweet tea, to which I add Splenda when I get to work. If I'm really late, I'll hit the cafeteria for one of their breakfast sandwiches and/or a cinnamon roll after school starts.

If I'm heading to the museum, at least the above Mac's minus the tea (causes too many trips to the euphemism). Maybe some other fast food place. Enough breakfast can carry me through the day without lunch.

If I'm staying home, it can be anything from a frozen waffle and an egg over easy to mixed cereal to "egg stuff" which is just too many calories to talk about but can also carry me through lunch.

BTW, White Castle has really good breakfast sandwiches, but get it on a bun. Their waffles suck.
