You use it to help make thread cutter taps? |

You use it to help make thread cutter taps? close enough. You use it to make or sharpen a thread cutter tool for a lathe. You use the thread cutter tool to cut a tap, a bolt, or a threaded rod. You can use the tap to create a thread die or a nut... BOINC WIKI |

I never saw memory like that before and I have been using computers since 1970. Now I know the name and the application, I understand why. After somebody responds, let us know where you got it. |

magnetic core memory, if memory serves. I saw one set once - as a museum artifact when I was learning, in the 70's BOINC WIKI |

Waiting for a reply. John. Your memory is close but this is not the Random Access Memory core module. |

aha. Found it. Core rope memory. It was used for stored programs - something like ROM today. BOINC WIKI |

aha. Found it. Core rope memory. It was used for stored programs - something like ROM today. I have heard about it but never saw it. It appears that NASA used it in the early spacecraft computers for program storage. and I suspect it could have been used for bootstrap memory but I have never seen it used that way. The computers I worked with had the bootstrap in hardware or in the latter ones, ROM. |

Percussion cap seating tool for cartridges. I just new you were going to ask that. 12 or 20 guage shotgun cartriges, its a bit hard to juge the size accurately. |
