Something big and beefy, not a kitchen knife. For sharpening/forming metal cutting tools?

The tool shown is used with a grinding wheel. The tool created or sharpened is used with something that turns, but does not usually turn itself.

The tool to be created or sharpened will only cut one part of a two part object, however, it can cut a tool to create the second part.

Okay. The last two posts kinda beat the tool clue to death.
Is it a thread cutter.

The tool shown is not a thread cutter, but it does have a relationship to one. (NOTE, it has been covered earlier in the thread).
