Vintage tools usually are sometime hand made in the shop.

Bicycle wheel straightener

Close enough to the tool. It is called a "Brennan rim bending tool."

So you are our winner. PM on the way.

Thank you for the win. I sure could have used one several weeks back. But don't think it would work on carbon fiber. Will go look for something to stump our esteem pannel of experts. BRB.

We had something that looked similar to this not long ago, but this is very different.
Name the tool or it's purpose.

Wouldn't have been able to ferret out the details if it wasn't for Sten-Arne. He knows what this tool is.
Flange Size:4" - 6"
Material:Steel
Style:Internal
Type:Pipe Flange Aligning Tool
Notes: The Internal Flange Alignment Tool quickly and accurately aligns the ID of the flange to the ID of the pipe. Reduces fit-up time by 60%. The ID of the flange can vary ± 1/8" (3mm) to the ID of the pipe and still obtain perfect alignment. The Internal Flange Alignment Tool is designed to align 150 to 300 pound flanges.

My jumbled word is lasting longer than these tool are.

The mystery tool of the moment is this. It was purpose built for one task only. So you have to have the location and purpose of this tool.
