I saw this yesterday on engadget & found my notebook is one of the effected. I haven't been using the cord that came with it, but filled submitted to get a new one anyway.

I'm pretty sure I have one of those as well. Have to wait till I get home and check but that is about the right time frame and I found out quickly not to have the cord sitting on anything or anyone. Thanks for the link

Got my replacement cord earlier this week and just got around to Opening it. Turns out the replacement is a 2 meter cord. Where the one that came with my notebook was only 1 meter. So that is nice to have. As I had found the original shorter cable very annoying.
