FYI I am not a racist and yes, I didn't bother to read your links. Have a nice weekend yourself. His books made such a lot of sense to me, and helped me through so much. This is the first I hear of Steiner, being a racist! I will look into it for sure... Makes me wonder now how come I never read one of his books on this subject... *scratches head* This is my favorite book of him, read it about 4 times... http://wn.rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA106/English/AP1971/EgyMyt_index.html From Wikipedia: Steiner's work includes both universalist, humanist elements and historically influenced racial assumptions We all know what assumptions mean over here, don't we? rOZZ Music Pictures |

Thanks for that. It's been something I have been interested in for decades. BTW, I was not being confrontational, I really could not see the sense. However, I do understand how some things can help an individual in ways that others cannot see. |

I read Steiner many years ago & instantly thought "pure racism" & stopped reading. The link you provided is very interesting & as I've just finished the first lecture, will continue on to the rest. It does provide a thought though...how can an individual produce interesting lectures like that, only to produce something else that can be clearly seen as racist? |

It was an English translation of one of his works in German. I can't recall which one as it really was a long time ago, but the link Stern gave reminded me of it. Most of it was about the different races & the superiority of the "White Race" (well, that's how I viewed it at the time). Reading the lectures that you linked to, cannot understand how one could teach subjects that go from racist thoughts to one of spiritual science. |

I really doubt the objectiveness of the links in the OP. Skepticreports and Waldorfcritics? Says enough for me... Don't tempt me;) I'm just thinking, a smart man like Steiner has a lot of critics, that's very normal. I will look into that so called racism of him but for now he will remain my hero on my profile:) rOZZ Music Pictures |

I really doubt the objectiveness of the links in the OP. Skepticreports and Waldorfcritics? Says enough for me... Like I said a few posts ago, Steiners books have helped me through a rough period and I never doubted his ideas (so far). It's your opinion against mine but I guess that's called politics, right? ;) [edit] Again from Wikipedia: Steiner occasionally characterized specific races, nations, and ethnicities in ways that have been termed racist by critics rOZZ Music Pictures |

To be fair here, myself as well as many other students found it racist. Why did we see it that way? Easy, growing up in the 50's & 60's in the UK, Blacks & Irish were unwelcome, so seeing the races divided as Steiner stated with the "Superior White Race" as nothing but racist & also elitist. |

To be fair here, myself as well as many other students found it racist. It's all a matter of perception and interpreting words, you're right Sirius. rOZZ Music Pictures |

You hold on to the tin cans and then this guy asks you a bunch of questions, and if you pay enough money you get to join the master race. How's that for a religion?" FZ |

Maybe, but I'm still finding your link interesting. Now on lecture 3. Sidenote: I hope I'm not becoming a Steiner admirer :-) |

Rudolf Steiner: Passive soul? Easily thrown aside once one listens to R&B, Jazz & Soul music. Passive souls cannot produce such music! |
