Messerschmidt's paper on broadband signals

From what I, a laymen for sure, can get out of this paper is that M. is saying that in his opinion, we can probably reach out further(light yrs.) with broadband attempts at a given energy expenditure even if that signal is only a beep-beep. Am I correct in stating that the same data that we get from Ariciebo for MB and AP will result in our reaching further with out AP than with our MB? If we get a beep-beep we can always then focus our search accordingly. |

reaching further with out AP than with our MB? Astropulse is a new type of SETI. It expands on the original SETI@home, but does not replace it. The original SETI@home searches for narrowband signals, as does a conventional AM or FM radio.
