I'm surprised neither of you have used the word "incest"

Such a horrible word...

Disagree, what happened to me I put down to growing pains. I still continued doing what I wanted to do.

Secondly when I started secondary at 11, girls back then reached puberty a lot later than what they do now. However by the time I entered the 3rd/4th years, Hubba Hubba Hubba & that was at 14!

To say that a 15 year old male does not know about sex & it's taboo's today is like asking me to believe in wizards & fairies!

Edit:

& I can't see what toughening up has to do with sex.

The overall morality changed in youngsters, I remember I was from the X generation, a lot different than your generation already. 20% of todays youth have great fear of the future, statistics have proven and no, this has nothing to do with sex, just proving a point that humans 'evolved' together with society, technology, social environment, factors who play a totally different role than 30 years ago.

Fair point so concede it. However it raises ugly questions which I believe has been asked in many threads on this board: -

Just what did his parents teach him? Just what have the schools been teaching him?

And with Martin over in the warming thread posting that every raindrop is evidence that global warming is going to kill everyone, I understand where this comes from. The hysteria that is the popular press, it isn't journalism any more, will be the downfall of society.

I know Esmé but the mother was intoxicated and went to lie there herself. Like I said in my last post, kids are very impressionable. You never know what the mother might have done in her drunk sleep... Boys at the age of 15 are very easily aroused and don't stop and think at that moment that it is wrong what they do.

Sorry but thats just bull. 15 years old easily aroused? Sure. Complete blackout of all higher brain functions when aroused? Eh no. And I doubt that anyone with a functioning brain can see their own mother as someone they want to have sex with (no matter what Freud was saying).

This thread is beginning to drift towards a subject which certainly requires its own thread otherwise, an interesting thread will degenerate into a male v female storm.

The initial investigations revealed that the teenager was watching pornographic materials on his handphone before the incident.
The mother was drunk when lying in her sons bed.
I think she misinterpreted the situation.

But hormons also affect human behavior, good or bad.

To be fair, the prefrontal cortex is not fully developed until a person is in their twenties. This is the area of the brain that controls impulse control. So teenagers can't be held to the same standards as a fully developed adult. However, most teenagers would run screaming at the mere thought of their parents having sex with anyone, so this is clearly a case where the young man is a little disturbed. How this came about is only conjecture at this point because there are so many ways someone can be damaged.

That brings us back to what anniet stated...

A really bad role model can lead to conscious or sub-conscious rejection of everything that person represents, without it leaving a vacuum behind it.

For someone to be that damaged/disturbed, I'm surprised that his school did not notice anything amiss as it's quite plain, he couldn't rely on his mother. Something else obvious as well, where was/is his father?

And if someone is damaged, he or she is very weak or on the other hand very dominant, there we have it again, how come people can be so different? There's that duality again, Yin and Yang. The main topic was though iirc if we were born evil. I guess, from what I've read in this thread, it differs from people to people, maybe there is such thing as evil forces but they are too much of a mystery if they exist at all. But then again, gravitation is a force! And that's a proven fact! argh

Mental illnesses have a name and symptoms, but do they prove evil?

Is it really such a surprise that humans react differently? Each of us occupies at any given moment a unique place in space-time. How can you expect that people act similarly?

Most civilised people do react in a similar manner. It's those with 1 can or more short of a six-pack that causes issues.

Wat? No sense of humour?

Okay then, in plain English: -

Lacking a few important brain cells! (that's what 1 can short means)
