Yeah the news is just starting to come over this mornings news service here, and what a shock to find it listed as an apparent suicide. :-(

It may have been reported as depression; however, less well known was that he suffered from Bi-Polar Disorder... The same as I. If treated, Bi-Polar suicide is less likely to occur; however, the individual must want treatment. Unfortunately, Robin Williams self medicated with drugs and alcohol. These are deadly combinations for those with Bi-Polar.

His comedic talent was genius; a gift from being Bi-Polar. He will sorely be missed. A great talent is gone forever. :-(

This was a bit of shock. Very sad news indeed. Don't really know what to say.

I liked his recent comedy series with Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), but sadly I think it was cancelled.

Shocking news and so sad. I, like many others, knew from the first time I saw him on Happy Days that he was destined for greatness. I know there were circumstances that the public is not aware of but I never would have suspected he would end up killing himself. R.I.P Mork.

How absolutely tragic. "Dead Poets Society" comes immediately, to mind.

President Obama Issues Statement On Death Of Robin Williams

The White House has issued this statement from President Obama:

“Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan, and everything in between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit. He made us laugh. He made us cry. He gave his immeasurable talent freely and generously to those who needed it most – from our troops stationed abroad to the marginalized on our own streets. The Obama family offers our condolences to Robin’s family, his friends, and everyone who found their voice and their verse thanks to Robin Williams.”

Dreadful news to hear about. A genius who could make you laugh and cry, almost at the dame time, as he did in Bicentennial Man...I love that film.
