Well as my medical condition precludes the consumption of both alcohol and caffeine.

I have been looking around for replacements haven't tackled the alcohol yet, but I have found that the decaffeinated coffee in Costa is not too bad, also the little cafe across the road does a good decaffeinated latte.

Surprisingly, Sainsburys decaffeinated rich instant is quite acceptable.

Of course there is no caffeine "buzz" so I fall asleep at lunch time instead of early evening.

As to beer, it has been over two weeks now completely beerless!!

Do I fell better, unfortunately... yes, I am sleeping much better, generally feel fitter, don't know how long it will last of course! :-)

Nice wake up call to a 6.0 quake 3:20 AM, house was twisting blinds were waving
but nothing fell on the floor. All the radio stations went off the air so I couldn't get an update for a while.

Good Afternoon Julie, they had some damage about 40 mies away but here we weathered just fine. After shocks are something to look for and this supposed to be day off which I don't feel is going to happen. :(

Keith Thomas working at BrewLab Sunderland once wrote about how carbon dioxide can ruin good beer.
Carbon dioxide forms during fermentation and if the brewer then leans over the fermenter, he can get a carbon shock, faint and fall in and drown in the fermenting beer.
And that means the beer is ruined!

BIG BEER - small breweries

It's an old friend of mine, Mats, who runs this brewery together with his friend Bengt and their wifes Eva and Carin.

Cheers.

I'm glad you're OK Grant. I was just thinking about you. My bed rolled too; for 15 seconds. No damage here, either.

We did just fine here, no damage as I can see in town. Now Sanoma is another story, it tore up Safeways and houses damaged. Me being 40 miles as the crow flys came out okay.:) Many aftershocks though, I lost count but I bet more than 40.

Hello everyone.

Well after a morning of catching up on all my domestic duties after a week of bad weather and a lot of PC work, I've decided that Beer O'clock today can start 30mins early.

Bottoms up!

Cheers.
