Message 1556209 - Posted: 13 Aug 2014, 16:02:22 UTC - in response to Message 1556154.

The Perseid meteor shower, considered the best star show of the year, peaks tonight and into the early morning hours of tomorrow.

This shower, which typically offers up fireballs and lingering star trails, runs from July 17 through August 24, with the apex happening this evening. However, the brightness of a nearly full moon following this past Sunday’s supermoon — the closest of 2014 to the Earth — could put a damper on viewing, according to NASA.

Have the binoculars ready here. I think it will be clouded tho, heard it on the news and it doesn't look too bright atm:(

Night James:)

Beer o'clock in 5 hours...

Well we were socked in here Julie, no chance of anything. :( beer yes, meteors no.

It has completely cleared up here, woohoo!! Only a few clouds in the sky... Cheers:)

You have to wait until midnight when the earth tilts into them from what I have been told. Still lucky you.:) 50 or more years just to see just one here.

The cloud is shifting here and we're even getting a bit of sun. Hope it continues so I can get a bit of shooting star drinking tonight :) Cheers :)

I remember back in the days i was quite adventurers I would climb up on the roof to be alone and see the stars. Many of those nights were great, I would be up there for many hours. Asking the same thing today, are we alone. NOT!!!
Cheers everybody

Walk? At that price I was expecting a chauffeur driven limo. Ah well *forks over money* Cheers :)

I honestly was too tired, and forgot about the meteors last night. I'll try to remember to poke my head out, tonight.

Hello folks. Real heavy cloud cocver here. The moon can poke thru now and then but its to bright to see much if any of shooting stars.

The antibiotics are working on my divertic, I noticed a big diff in my sigmoid colon this morning.

As for the beer, I hope you guys are drinking my share. I dont want to hear about any brewery shutting down a shift:)
