They say if people cross the borders illegally they won't be able to identify them and track them for illness. Didn't someone else suggest we secure the borders before now?? Hmmm.....

(CNN) -- An Ebola-stricken Texas nurse will fly to a Maryland hospital that specializes in the deadly virus, and several Ohioans have isolated themselves out of fear they were exposed to another Texas nurse with Ebola, officials said Thursday.

Federal health officials are facing Congress over how the U.S. has handled the crisis, and another person in Connecticut is exhibiting symptoms of the virus and has received an Ebola test.

AKRON, Ohio -- Amber Joy Vinson may have had Ebola symptoms as early as Friday, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention official said, and passengers on the Oct. 10 flight the Dallas nurse took to Cleveland will be contacted.

There are now eight people under quarantine in Northeast Ohio after coming into contact with Vinson while she visited family in Tallmadge Oct. 10-13.

The logic I don't understand is the claim that banning incoming flights from the affected west african countries would make it easier for infected persons to enter the USA or any other country for that matter.

If we were talking about banning flights from Canada or Mexico I might buy the argument on the basis that individuals would take measures into their own hands and walk across the border. But they aren't going to swim across the Atlantic Ocean.
